Didn't suffer from much tekan during my time with an Infantry Bn. The tekans usually happens when you are on course (like that poor sniper guy).
That kenna kick from instructor was during my Sispec days, my section instructor is a damn animal. He made racist remarks, bias, physically abusive and kinda' mad. I got the kick in the back while I was doing fire movement. Actually in Sispec, there are worse treatments. Though I didn't see it myself, I did heard from my friends who saw it.
As for the log shit, it was during my combat engr course. The whole platoon which I was in was made to 'rearrange' the whole warehouse of logs which was used for constructing BCS and BCP. And the damn instructor said only 6 persons are needed per log!!! Those who are engrs or have seen a dug-in BCP or BCS before, should know what the logs look like. -

instructors tekan lah. Unit welfare one lez.... provided you don't do stupid stuffs lah. I think because in unit, everyone xiong together outfield, so don't have tekan mentality in camp.
unit is all about brotherhood and helping one another during difficult times -
