rank equivalence in OCS
one's rank in ocs will determine wat rank one will turn out to be if one becomes OOC at any point in the OCC (sounds so similar huh? )
OOC during pro-term
3SG or CPL (depending on how far into pro term; for inf, gds and cdo, haf to go ROC)
OOC during service term CPL
OOC during tri-service term PTE
this is roughly the case. results may vary.
but this does NOT mean a pro-term cadet is equivalent to a 3SG. a cadet is the lowest life form in the saf and has to follow the instructions of any other ranks other than the recruits!

Jungle Confidence Course
Personnel who successfully complete the Jungle Confidence Course are awarded this badge, to be worn above the left breast pocket. Candidates for this course have to undergo 3 weeks of jungle training encompassing jungle navigation and jungle survival skills.
This course was made compulsory for all infantry, guards and commando cadets during their pro-term since 1996.
I shall provide some details on the course soon. -
Handy Things to always have when in OCS
1. lots of black tape
2. perm marker
3. lots of black string (for securing loose items)
4. clear tape (the very broad kind)
5. masking tape
6. ziploc
7. jackknife
8. pen, pencil, paper
9. telt (wrapping paper)
10. febreeze - a spray tt removes odour from clothing - good when u need to re-wear no. 4 cos no time to wash!
11. black rubber bands big and small
12. materials for cleaning bunk and area.
13. iron (yes, i brought my own iron in)
14. starch (the spray kind)
15. lots of hangers - the ones chosen as the standard kind for the plt
16. lighter (to burn cock hair)
17. kiwi and brush - accessible at all times!
18. tupperware - i use it to keep the aide memoir in my SBO - we were told to bring the aide memoir wherever we go.
19. spare batteries
will add to the list whenever i can think of more. -

I usually will iron anyway. Makes packing the no 4s easier to fold and more compact in a way. -
yes. ladies who sign on as officers will undergo their bmt in ocs - one of the wings (currently sierra) conducts that. after that they will carry on with their occ in sierra wing until pro term, when they will either leave ocs for their pro term in other schools, or get posted to the inf/gds/cdo wings to do their pro term. sierra and tango wings do not conduct pro terms usually.Originally posted by ryangian:Does the ladies who sign on as officers follow the route as mention in the post -

for me i iron all of them - yup. makes them easier to pack. and u never noe when they will nit pick. -

there r certain differences though - their ippt, soc, seoc, etc test standards. apart from that all the rest are the same. -
