I kinda like the training area near the beaches. It's has a kinda nice thing to it while making our way along the beach at night in FBO while recceing. The sound of the sea brought some inner calm to our nerves and 'soothes' our tiring feet.
And the moon lighting that cuts thru the rubber plantation at night... can't explain it but it's nice. -
oh ya. it could be a nice place but it definately very fuck up if u gotta stay there for a long time as a trainee, man or spec.
anyway, it's the same in units........ at least unit still in mainland... thou not tat much of saikang compare to be in tekong... -

I miss the bump boat ride... cause I usually take that boat just to 'order' ammo for my camp. I would take the time to visit my friends at the BMT HQ, have lunch over there, take the bus to the ammo dump, talk cock to the guy... the day is almost over, take the boat back and go home! hahaaa....

When we were there in '82 those houses along the street were still up and there were still quite a lot of people living in the kampung. Jetty looks the same though. never saw any taxi's at the jetty before! What year were those taken?
Dun worry about missing tekong too much after bmt, you'll be back there often enuff for exercises if you're in certain units or schools, lol. -
I miss watching the planes taking off from Changi Airport on a starry Sunday night, flying over my head while I'm sitting on an RPL booking into Tekong. Makes the journey almost bearable
And booking out on Friday morning 0800 on a bumboat to Changi point for a medical appointment. The bumboat would be dodging in between sand filled barges and their tugboats sailing towards some jetty along the Straits of Johor. Priceless memories never to be repeated!
