Hey my friend, where are you from? I am from the same batch as you but mine was in Feb I think. Makes the journey almost bearable
And booking out on Friday morning 0800 on a bumboat to Changi point for a medical appointment. The bumboat would be dodging in between sand filled barges and their tugboats sailing towards some jetty along the Straits of Johor. Priceless memories never to be repeated!
Jan '97 batch, Camp 1.
Hey! nice to meet someone from there at around the same time. Me from the Bravo Knights. Yeah, we were the ones who took your beds from the camp at Ladang and brought it to your bunks, and made things easier for you guys by doing some simple area cleaning a couple of before you came in. A pity things got dusty so fast there!Originally posted by Theballstopshere:Hey my friend, where are you from? I am from the same batch as you but mine was in Feb I think. These photos are online in the National Archives of Singapore website. I just copy from there and paste here.Originally posted by Unsung_Hero:Wow, tranquilice, those photos bring back some memories, thanks!
When we were there in '82 those houses along the street were still up and there were still quite a lot of people living in the kampung. Jetty looks the same though. never saw any taxi's at the jetty before! What year were those taken?
Dun worry about missing tekong too much after bmt, you'll be back there often enuff for exercises if you're in certain units or schools, lol.
