depends on the severity of the condition, and the personnel's wishes as well. this realli applies for all kinds of injuries tt r potentially more serious, like those u highlighted.Originally posted by sunniban:I was just wondering, how come the same injury gets different treatment. For example i heard this situation, where 2 ppl dislocated their shoulder, 1 got downgraded to pes C, while the other continues with training. Aren't all shoulder dislocations straight away pes C at least for a year? Just curious.
On another note, what happens when u get certain common injuries? For example......
1.fractured ankle/ arm or other common part of body
2. dislocations e.g knee or shoulder
3. twisted knee
Do you get downgraded or do you continue with training? What if you feel you cannot cope with training and want to ask for a medical board review?![]()
yes if its master hand it matters. u may kanna excuse firearm, and if the excuse lasts for too long, u noe wat happens next.Originally posted by sunniban:For arm injuries and shoulder dislocations, does whether the injury is to the master hand matter? It should right? And im particularly interested in shoulder dislocation......cos my shoulder hurt like hell the other day and i couldnt move my arm, then there was a cruck sound and i could move my hand but it still hurt. I think its a dislocation, gonna see a doctor. So whats the situation with shoulder dislocations......some say sure downgrade, others say won't downgrade........ anybody knows?![]()
some ppl got problem(pain or any other difficulties) after the injury but some no problems so the pes status different...Originally posted by sunniban:I was just wondering, how come the same injury gets different treatment. ok.. rem to ask him to write a letter for ur MO.Originally posted by sunniban:I've seen the doc and its a shoulder dislocation........ gonna see the specialist soon. hopefully sometime this week.........
hey im not a doctor, not an MO, and i haven done this b4. but common sense tells me tt if ur specialist says tt ur condition is bad, the chances of u getting downgrade will be higher. as for wat shud go into the letter, ur specialist wil noe wat to write. and i never been to a med board. so ive no idea.Originally posted by sunniban:mm, what should the letter say? A friend of mine said his had a whole load of excuses.......from rifle to upper limb...... and it said recommend downgrade or something.......
(edit) oh and is the medical board like the name suggest a group of doctors or just one doctor? Can ya tell me briefly what exactly is the medical board? (edit)
im not sure y u want to know anything about Med board??Originally posted by sunniban:mm, what should the letter say? A friend of mine said his had a whole load of excuses.......from rifle to upper limb...... and it said recommend downgrade or something.......

u wont even see the table let alone the whole Medical Board..its somewhere at CMPB area..inside DSTA building..they just decide what to do base on the M.O info..most likely a downgrade..Originally posted by sunniban:yea i am hoping for a downgrade.....dunno what ill be cos i can't carry heavy stuff at all and it still hurts when i move, + ive heard some horror stories bout shoulder dislocations and i definitely dun want it to happen again, a temp downgrade would do.....
as to why i wanna know what the med board is like...... for some reason i get intimidated when i see doctors and if its a group of em, its worse......especially now that i am in the army. They all seem to talk to you as if you just wanna keng. Not just the MOs but some other superiors as well. Like get fever and he asks did you eat colgate.... you know that sorta thing..... very irritating......
on another note, i heard there was this guy in sispec who got his shoulder dislocated while climbing something and got stuck high up in the air.......scary stuff..... can't remember how he was rescued in the end.....
