i would like to ask the old birds here abt something...
izzit true that if u fit the below criteria u will most likely join commando?
1) pes A
2) small-sized
3) not only son in family

i fit the 1st 2 criteria, but i'm the only son, so, kena rejected even though i passed the selection test

aiya, juz do ur physical test damn poorly lor if i'm not wrong lah, dat time i wanted very much to get in so tried really hard, hehe...alternatively, u can keng during ur bmt, get as much att b, den try to downgrade, after dat post out be rsm runner like my fren, hahaha

but think again lah, commando leh, dats where all the pride, strength, honour and glory came from leh, hehe, u think properly lah, not bad actually, better pay somemore, i were u, i would at least try, if kena mua chee till buay tahan, den give up lor, go downgrade lor, not difficult nowadays

cos actually my plan is to go for normal BMT at tekong 1st...
then hopefully can go OCS or SISPEC...
btw, tell me more abt commando lehz..

its not as though anyone who meets the above 3 criteria will be selected. anyway where did u hear the criteria from? and in any case, there will be a selection test too. chances of not being selected is so much higher than being selected.Originally posted by tetsumi:izzit?

anyway, i don't recommend u to keng to much....
if u r selected, just try yr best for it.
not everyone will passout...
alot will dropout during the training phase..
small-size??? alot of us r big-size guys.. -

if down-graded, may still stay in the battalion as lobo, storeman, massboy... may also post-out... all depends.
small-size abit loseout lay.. image putting on the main-parachute, reserve-parachute, + full equipment + sbo + weapon.
u'll get abt 40-50+kg of load on u...
don't worry lah..
if selected, just go for it loh..
but anyway, how many ppl will get selected?? not many.... -

Take it from a guy who tried his best to fail the vocational interview: if they want you, there's not a whole lot that you can do about it.
I went for my interview and this very sullen-looking sergeant asked me if I wanted to go to Commandos. I asked him if I had a choice and he said no. So, just to give him the worst attitude I could, I said, "So what the f*** are you asking me for?".
The next week, I got my letter that I was off to Changi. As it turns out, that was the attitude they were looking for. Duh!
