well. u can also apply for the award b4 u r enlisted. they will then decide based on ur results / bmt performance.Originally posted by BMEngineer:Of course. I got the information from this site too. But one of the conditions to get the award is to become an officer, which is quite hard i think. A lot of people going to BMTC want to go OCS.
er.. well i think the best person to answer this question is ARC. but when u apply they will ask u for results and all that. so maybe u wan to find out if u can apply first and furnish the results later. could expedite the process abit.Originally posted by BMEngineer:Can I apply now? I am now at my final semester doing only 1 module, which is my Industrial Attachment Programme. So now I only have the results for 5sems.
hm.. i think yes. well no need to bring all of them on the first day. u can slowly bring them batch by batch.Originally posted by BMEngineer:Thanks Wuming! Yah I saw the things that you suggested to bring for BMT in the sticky. Do i have to bring them along for my Ptp?
yes. everything u need will be issued to u on the first day. as for glasses, recommend that u bring along. u do not have to wear them if u do not need them for day to day activities.Originally posted by BMEngineer:No 4 will be given to us during PTP? My cousin in Hendon got his during his PTP. I guess I need to sort out what to bring on my first day. Btw i am not short-sighted, by only astig (because of this i failed the NDU selection
). I want to bring my spects along to Tekong but only want to use it during shooting/shooting test. Is it alright to do so?
no prob. njoy ur stay and good luck for ur nsOriginally posted by BMEngineer:Thanks! This forum is really useful, especially with a great mod like wuming you. This forum really makes me feel excited about going to NS.

anyway there are quite a few people from poly getting LSA. i think my fren had average As and Bs. plus if ur grades are ok and u do reallly well in ocs pro term, like SOM, SOH, u can actually upgrade ur LSA to ATA. more money.... but 6 year bond...
i like ur enthusiasm. all the best for ur bmt and good luck!Originally posted by BMEngineer:Not to so call 'por' but i just say what i feel. Don you agree with wat i said too
.
eh.....upgrade? Too early to say. Wait till I pass my BMT and hopefully become an officer first.
Thanks for clarification. I am sure barking up the wrong tree if i am doing soOriginally posted by wuming78:if he realli was trying to do tt im afraid he was barking up the wrong tree.![]()
anyway sa-kar is one of the worst taboo in the saf. one may get into the commander's good books (and even this is not guaranteed) but one will definitely lose all his peers.![]()

Thanks for your suggestion. Well i am considering very seriously right now. I feel that sign on as officer is a great thing to do, and can learn a lot of things too. Well I think i just applied if they allow me to. If didn get it i will not sign on for specs.Originally posted by Slee981:Well.... My advice to you... Dun sign on for the sake of the Study Awards... Go in and have a feel of what Army is before signning on... Or else you will regret for the rest of your life....
I didn't said that being a spec is an improper jobOriginally posted by wocc:thats the wrong attitude. being a spec is no less glamourous then being an offr. its still a proper job. granted no one salute u and no one call u sir. but that can easily be remedied by going to macdonalds. "can i help u SIR"
its not a glam job. so if u are in it for the thrill of being an offr then think twice. u may meet offr that will change ur mind about what an offr really is. and meet spec who will show more professionalism then an offr.
end of the day, its bad to stereo type either.
how come u tell that to an aspiring officer leh? u scare competition?Originally posted by Master -_-:Dun go OCS![]()
