Hardly likelyOriginally posted by letonz:hi MO(NS)
i am dignose with very mild mitral valve prolapse by a specialist ( National heart centre) , currently still experiencing chest pain quite frquently. what is my chances of downgrading???
thks
Actually u do get downgrade for MVP but the condition must be quite seriousOriginally posted by oxford mushroom:Hardly likely
ya..mild MVP is far too common to downgrade...like flat feetOriginally posted by tarutaru:Actually u do get downgrade for MVP but the condition must be quite serious
Discomfort as in body or in mind sometimes this happen to the mind when u think u r sick.Originally posted by jonalim:dear doctors, jus to ask and carlify
- if a condition is not downgradeable, but servicemen is experiencing distress and discomfort in executing his daily activities as a PES A/B soldier, what can he do?
- Will there be a re-vocation in that case?
-
for eg. if a person exp chest pain when run but aft scan and etc, he issn't eligible for downgrade, how is he gg to cope with tat pain and breathlesS?Originally posted by tarutaru:Discomfort as in body or in mind sometimes this happen to the mind when u think u r sick.
As for revocate is allowed only when the servicemen cannot performed to what the necessary need...sometimes only enviroment affect the servicemen
Depends on the cause of his chest pain if due to lack of exercise do u think he deserve to be downgraded?Originally posted by jonalim:for eg. if a person exp chest pain when run but aft scan and etc, he issn't eligible for downgrade, how is he gg to cope with tat pain and breathlesS?

true true..Originally posted by tarutaru:Depends on the cause of his chest pain if due to lack of exercise do u think he deserve to be downgraded?
most of these pain are associate to prolong doing certain activities. Most likely when these servicemen report sick occasionally the servicemen would be given Att (B) in order for them to rest but if there are persistence pain over certain area after rest then MO would most likely to be referred to either SPC or a specialist.Originally posted by jonalim:true true..
but what if here we are talking abt physical structure, and pain
for eg. the common ones lky Knee pain, ankle, joints, back etc... how do servicemen deal with these discomfort when performing daily tasks?
thanks doctor
Reporting sick is every servicemen right......Originally posted by jonalim:doctors, i dunno if you know abt this, some sergeants or commanders really instill fear in their men to report sick etc...
also if aft seeing specialist, the case is not downgradeable, what can the servicemen do?
??? doctor, i dun really get what u meanOriginally posted by tarutaru:Reporting sick is every servicemen right......
Btw, if after seeing a specialist it is not downgradable u can always seek out second option right even specialist can be wrong. Also I think u should know that even the MB sometimes have difficult cases where they have to put up to a specialist board.
It is your case?
Losing medical dockets? Thought they already went paces long time ago....by right they have no problem finding your medical history. Even losing the medical docket does not mean it loses your right to report sick.Originally posted by jonalim:??? doctor, i dun really get what u mean
what do you mean, and how can i seek second option?
also, recently, medical centre lost my medical docket, what should i do? i gave them call many times already (if this is too sensitive, i can delete this away, and contact thru PM)
another qn is - To what extent SAF MOs practise the values of Professionalism, Ethics, Care for Soldiers when treating servicement? I believe that you have heard /seen cases of 'kenging' and also SAF Doctors treating patients as potential malingerers
Years ago that might be true but not now. I remember in the late 70s the poor chaps in Commandos had to run around the parade square in FBO before they are allowed to see the MO. If they did not come in half dead they were considered malingering.Originally posted by jonalim:doctors, i dunno if you know abt this, some sergeants or commanders really instill fear in their men to report sick etc...
Find a second specialistOriginally posted by jonalim:in any case doc, what does
seeking second option means?
but then as u see....even if i see another 100 sepcialists, the dignosis wld be still the same tat perhaps my case is not ' serious enough for downgradable'Originally posted by tarutaru:Find a second specialist
Still Pes BOriginally posted by hmphie:Dear MO,
I have acute sinusitis when placed in cold or dust-filled environments and causes severe blackages in the nostrils which forces me to breathe through my mouth. This occurs when the weather turns colder. Does this warrant a downgrade from my current Pes B status? Thanks.
I think if ur fren is suffering from anxiety, he should not be too worried esp heOriginally posted by plenoptic:Hi there are a few questions that I would like to ask:
- My friend was classified as a "P" case because he was suffering from anxiety. What is a "P" case?
- Will in appear in the certificate when he ORD? Will it affect his future as a civil servant as well as finding jobs in the public sector?
- Is it true that only "P" case NS man can downgrade? I have another friend who also suffer depression, but he wasn't downgraded. Why?
Thanks... My friend is really frustrated now and he wants to upgrade his PES. Please help him...
I have a fren who is downgraded to PES C1 for anxiety before enlistment but he managed to complete his full-time NS peacefully. The person had been on medication for the past seven years.Originally posted by saabster:I will attempt to assist any questions you have. Please do NOT ask the PES status for specific medical conditions. That information is classified and I will NOT post a reply.
