So what r u trying to say?Originally posted by lingster:i had a venomous insect bite while outfield and the damn thing swelled to 4 50cent coins. was sent to medical centre, and waited 3 hours to see the mo. when i did, he asked the usual qns, tried squeezing the insect bite, before saying i will have to go A&E.
then i had to wait another 2 hours to get my status and medicine, go back to company, go back home before heading to the hospital. and the mo made the bite hurt even more with his squeezing lol.
From what I know, there are MOs and experienced Medics here who offer their opinion.Of course, what we say here is for advice only, and not a binding medical opinion.Originally posted by lousyboiboi:this MO is a real MO?
I'm NOT MO, But i can tell you that you are to get a copy of the specialist report but if i remember correctly you have to pay for it.Originally posted by yuleng10:Hi MO
I would like to check with you regarding about Specialist diagnosis.
After my pre enlistment checkup, I was sent to a renal unit specialist for further investigation. The specialist said that my condition was normal, and wrote a specialist report to the MO so that i could obtain my Pes status. I was not given a copy of the specialist report on my condition.
When I went to enquire whether I could have a copy of the specialist report, I was told that specialists usually do not keep a hard copy of the report that they write. Rather, reports are in the form of writing and are given back to the doctor who referred the patients to them.
My question is: I would like to know is it possible for me to obtain a copy of the specialist report from the SAF MO for my own reference?
So u mean get from SAF MO must still pay?Originally posted by tarutaru:I'm NOT MO, But i can tell you that you are to get a copy of the specialist report but if i remember correctly you have to pay for it.
You get from MO don't have to pay but if you request for it, think u have to. btw why don't you photcopy the report before you give it to the MOOriginally posted by yuleng10:So u mean get from SAF MO must still pay?
The specialist did not pass me his report. he sent it directly to the MO. But are u sure it is possible to request from the MO?Originally posted by tarutaru:You get from MO don't have to pay but if you request for it, think u have to. btw why don't you photcopy the report before you give it to the MO
You can requested but the MO may not give you.Originally posted by yuleng10:The specialist did not pass me his report. he sent it directly to the MO. But are u sure it is possible to request from the MO?
Well, thanks for taking your time to reply to my queries. looks like it is not as simple as a piece of paper. sighzOriginally posted by oxford mushroom:You can request and pay for the specialist's letter from the specialist clinic you went to. The report legally belongs to the doctor and vicariously, the hospital he works in. Your MO is not obliged to give you a copy of the letter although I have done so on occasions (unless the policy now forbids it)....and yes, I am MO.
Medical boards are conducted almost everyday by MO's but how long b4 u go on board depends on unit. Of cos you need medical documents if u want to be downgraded.Originally posted by furtiveboi:dear sir,

Maximum MC is 2 weeks after minor surgery, the MO will review after that and decide if you need more. You do not add 2 different disease entities up to downgrade further.Originally posted by alien09:I've shoulder subluxation. I just went for an arthroscopic surgery to stitch up a SLAP lesion. I was given a 2 wks mc, a medical review in 2 wks and a C1L1 downgrade letter.
(1) why is my mc only 2 wks? i'm not a keng-ster but 2 wks is barely enough for your shoulder to recuperate after an operation. It is barely better than it was prior to the op. i'm a combatant btw.
(2) I also have a documented case of allergic rhinitis. would it contribute to lowering my Pes status? and a change in vocation for me? as in, my shoulder problem combined with my allergic rhinitis problem.
thx.
depending on the illness.Originally posted by alien09:thx saabster...my mc has since been extended to 2 mths but i wonder if my medical officer can cancel it...can he suka suka cancel it or change it to atten b?
