Stay in or out is a decision by your commander or unit manpower officer, not up to the MO although he can recommend it. But I do not see a medical reason why someone with eczema cannot stay in camp. Unless you have a letter from NSC certifying that you have allergic contact dermatitis to the army?Originally posted by kyle:hi MO,
if i have Eczema and can get a specialist letter from NSC, do you think i can request for stay out ? I'm in a 8-5 vocation..
Quite a number. The specialist in SGH will exclude the more serious causes like alcoholic disease, cerebellar (part of the brain that controls movement coordination) and disorders of the nerves...but there is a group of tremors are are inherited and some are totally unexplained but do not cause problems...so-called essential tremors. The late Prof of Medicine Seah Cheng Siang had it as well...some people find that taking a bit of alcohol helps to control it.Originally posted by noahnoah:Hi . Mo
I went to one of the polyclinic and telling the
dr that my hand keep on trembling , and a blood test
was found to be normal for any thyroid problem
and he refer me to specialist in SGH...
so wat other problem contribute to my this problem
tks
Should not affect your PES status...you just have to take your medication every night, that's all. But the SAF psychiatrist should know what medicine you are on..I notice you have already been downgraded to C1L3...so you are stationed at the base. Both during and after BMT you will be able to take your medicines regularly.Originally posted by breakitdown:Hmm MO.
I am having mild depression and anxiety problems.. already gave CMPB the specialist letter and they have graded me C1L3. Is it ok that i didnt tell the SAF Psychiatrist/CMPB that i have to take the drugs every night? I found out my problem was coming back when i skipped the drugs for a few nights(I forgot to take it). Will it affect me if i need to take medicines regularly during BMT?
and one more question. can i request to see the SAF Psychiatrist instead of specialist psychistrist outside?
Thanks in advance.

If you keep forgetting to take your medicine, your MO may order you to report to the medical centre each day to take your medicine in front of a medic to ensure compliance.
When you are in the SAF, yes, you can request to see the SAF psychiatrist instead of your own specialist.
No, only after you have enlisted.Originally posted by breakitdown:THanks for the response.
Before i enlist, i mean now, i can call them and request to see SAF psychiatrist instead of my own specialist?
You have been referred to a specialist, right? Much depends on what the specialist say...he may put you on medication to stop the tremors. His report will determine whether downgrading is necessary.Originally posted by noahnoah:Hi Mo
due to my hand tremor , when i hold certain thing. it tremble
even down to the striping of rifle , so never been called up for
range , will i be downgraded in such case

i got Achilles Tendonitis, quite bad cos its swollen at the ankles. can see and feel the lump. physio said no cure, doctors said unless i go surgery. do i get downgraded because of this? i got problem running and jumping so i only hope to be excused from running and jumping in IPPT. any advice?
thank you in advance!
First, eating utensils are washed after use and you will not spread hep B that way. The chances of spread by saliva is low, although the virus can be present. Unless you have liver damage already, Hep B carrier status will not affect your fitness. Obviously, you cannot donate blood.Originally posted by nyewnt:hi doc...
have been serving for almost 1 yr le... just got posted to a new unit... but now have medical prob in pending...
i am a chronic hep b carrier. so will i be downgraded? and if i am being downgraded can i request to be posted to a vocation that is 8-5... i read that the chances of infecting others will be much higher if i live under the same roof with them(share toilet bowl, eating utensils) thanks for the reply in advance
Essential tremor tends to develop after 60 years old, although it may be seen in late adolescents and has a genetic link. So first of all, your diagnosis must be reviewed by a neurologist to confirm if it is true. Medical treatment is effective in a large proportion of cases. If so, you can still be combat fit. Your PES status will therefore depend on your specialist's recommendation.Originally posted by noahnoah:i have essentail tremors
can it be downgraded
it is affecting my life
Depends on the specialist's recommendation...Originally posted by Taiwanpolitics:ERM here's my medical condition

Thank you MO. I am already PES B. So what does this mean? Downgrade to PES C and excuse IPPT?Originally posted by oxford mushroom:Archilles tendon is at the back of the feet, just above the heel. Some people have a tight tendon archilles...
Excuse running? That means downgrade to non-combat fit...your MO must see how bad is it and refer to the SAF Medical Board. Usually they give a trial of Pes B and see how you do...CMC may see you himself...he's an orthopaedic surgeon![]()
