I am no medic or MO, but from my personal experience the whole process can take years. I had a ligament reconstruction OP done around 3 years back (Submitted incident report roughly around the same time) , injury incurred during IPPT.Originally posted by Luc85:Dear MOs,
I had filed an in-service training injury report recently. I would like to know approx. the time for it to be processed, where, how long and how is it going to be approved for Permanent Disability (PD) board, and what is the compensation formulae (as in commerical insurance policy) for computation purpose?
Thank you
haha i have the same prob too.. waiing for MO to reply to my previous post...Originally posted by noahnoah:Hi
My friend went to an X ray test , and it reveals
that there are white scarring on my right lobe of the lungs
whats tat actually, he is often breathless when running..
could it be due to the white scarring
tks
Previous inflammation..could be old pneumonia. The lung has huge reserves...scarring in part of a lobe will not affect his physical status.Originally posted by noahnoah:Hi

For compensation in injury cases, the computation is based on the degree of permanent disability. Immediately after injury, you may have a lot of disabilities but most of that may be temporary. With time, you get better and regain more functions. The law is clear that the compensation depends on the amount of permanent damage. If your specialist cannot be sure if the healing process has completed and that there is no prospect of future regain of function following physiotherapy etc., they will defer the assessment.Originally posted by Override2Zion:I am no medic or MO, but from my personal experience the whole process can take years. I waited 2+ years before I was scheduled for PD board at MMI. Till now, its been 3+ years since I had the OP performed and I have yet to be informed of any compensation despite regular probing to the relevent departments by my unit's manpower clerks.
Regarding the compensation computation formulae, I'm not to sure but I was told that SAF bases it on the MOM's Workmen Compensation Scheme. Maybe somebody can enlighten us should they have more accurate or relevent information. Hope this helps.
What happened was that I was instructed to obtain a PD assessment report from TTSH by the doctor who performed the operation on me (2 years+ after date of operation) . A percentage PD was indicated on the report and forwarded to MMI. I was then asked to attend a PD board at MMI (presence of a senior MO of LTC rank and another MO from my camp). The senior MO only mentioned that he agreed with the percentage indicated on the report. Wonder if this is considered a case close. What other follow-up are expected? How do I find out if the case is closed?Originally posted by oxford mushroom:That was why the PD board was delayed for 2+ years, but even then perhaps your specialists felt that you could still get better? If their opinion is that your disability can get better, the board will not award compensation until the specialists can come up with a definite opinion.
can someone give me some ans with regards to my Qs. ThxOriginally posted by kenshin_himura:hey MO.. i have blk nose and serious cough these daes.. went to do a spyrometry test todae in CMPB..( deep breath and exhale all the air into this machine).. in the end MO in CMPB said my lungs were not able to expand well. Be4 todae's consultation session, they said i have some white scarring on my right lobe of the lungs but SGH scans said it could be due to past infections, not TB. But todae my cosultation with MO said the scarrings could affect my lungs and now i am downgraded to Pes C9 L2... Is there ani chance that i could upgrade to Pes B. If i am able to prove that my lungs are functioning well, can i appeal to upgrade my status? i seriously want to return to pes B status. Thx
You can ask your MO about the Medical Board decision and your S1 as to whether they have processed your claim. If the PD board chairman agrees with the assessment, the delay may not be due to medical reasons. Or someone is sitting on your case...Originally posted by Override2Zion:What happened was that I was instructed to obtain a PD assessment report from TTSH by the doctor who performed the operation on me (2 years+ after date of operation) . Your PES status depends on your medical condition and it has nothing to do with what YOU want. If a serviceman's condition requires downgrading, he will be downgraded even if he begs me to upgrade him (usually regulars who stand to lose service pay).Originally posted by kenshin_himura:can someone give me some ans with regards to my Qs. however lets say that at that time when i did the test the result are unreliable as i am sick.... and that instead i am physically fit and medically fit.. possible to get upgraded?Originally posted by oxford mushroom:Your PES status depends on your medical condition and it has nothing to do with what YOU want. If you repeat all the X-rays and clinical tests now and they show that the earlier X-ray changes and lung function test deficits were temporary, the Medical Board may re-consider it.Originally posted by kenshin_himura:however lets say that at that time when i did the test the result are unreliable as i am sick.... and that instead i am physically fit and medically fit.. possible to get upgraded?
