hi sir, i would like to ask a few simple questions.
i am suffering from back pain and reported this a few times to my BMT and current camp MO alr. My GP suspected a slipped disc and the camp MO put me out of course accordingly but couldnt downgrade me until i had the MRI done. However, i went for a consultation with a private specialist and he wrote a memo to the camp MO recommending a temporary downgrade and excused combat vocations as i am waiting for postings. My MO looked at it and jus dismissed it, saying he couldnt downgrade me temporarily. but how is that fair? I am suffering from back problems, especially when sitting or standing for qte some time, and carrying heavy loads, and my camp MO didnt wan to refer me for an MRI yet expected me to produce one. and didnt temporary downgrade even when the specialist recommended it. he just gave me one month light duty and excused heavy load.could the resident doctor provide some advice please? thank you! -

if u have money, ask ur private spec to refer u for MRI.
if u have time, go polyclinic, ask for referral, then go hospital MRI. this way also full govt subsidy using 11b, same as saf referral letter to hospital. -

at most pes b, but excuse sweaty/dusty environment perm.
(almost same as severe asthma type.)
as saf got those steriod cream, most prob no change in vocation, unless specialist doctor prove otherwise u r no fit to be combat due to wearing of no 4 seriously aggravate the skin condition. -

I am a PES A private who just passed out from BMT. Currently awaiting posting.
I have a skin condition and just saw a skin specialist at SGH. He gave me a very general letter stating something like, "the aforementioned has atopic dermatitis which is aggravated by sweating."
He also scheduled me for follow up in a month's time to further assess my skin. BTW I think this doctor quite big shot...his stamp says 'senior consultant' plus alot of other titles...
What would my camp MO give me if I produce this letter? Since my condition is aggravated by "sweating" does this warrant any excuse eg. outfield or uniform etc?

as advised, u better get a stronger worded memo from the doctor to support ur case to ur camp mo to have u boarded for change in pes status.
that senior consultant stamp is civilian title, most top doctors civilian when reservist time are still captain in rank. most eminient specialists are of course selected to be assigned to referred to as "MMI saf specialists" when their reservists time. -

I'll probably be seeing another one at National Skin Centre. So I would have better luck of going to medical board if my specialist letter directly reccomends me for excuse uniform/outfield/downgrade etc?
If I show 2 letters would my case be stronger? -

i have been selected for a sec comm course that requires a field deployable pes status, as it includes a couple of day outfield activities, no outfield camping. however im pending a downgrade from A to C2L3 (from my specialist memo from MMI thats supposed to be given to my unit MO) due to the situation that i am about to post out of my unit, ive been told to wait and give it to my new unit MO instead. im gg nee soon btw. so...
1. i want to go for this course, so when i get downgraded (eventually, i hope), how do i sort things out? its kind of wasted when you're selected for a good course but your medical status screws you up.
2. how come the MMI specialist cant give me a straight downgrade and instead "recommends" it to my unit MO? sounds abit like tai chi to me. btw, if you need to know, my condition is bilateral pes planus (severe) with tight TAs and hamstrings, as what the spec told me.

in answer to no. 2 -this is to ensure that no special relationship exists between the doctor and the serviceman. There are unscrupulous doctors who could easily just charge money for A direct downgrade. The medical board Stops this from being A reality. In answer to no. 1 -yeah it's difficulti, when the mind is willing but the body is weak...

It's really unlikely unless it's deemed that it will limit your ability to soldier on. They may also decide to investigate for other causes. -

however if it is As badas you say it is then IM rather Surprised you haven't been excused uniform...

have you informed your mo? if it's really bad, there may be a possibility of downgrade but usually only if hearing overall is badly affected
that usually means both ears

MVP has differing grades of severity and can cause chest pain, breathlessness and even sudden death.
So it certainly is A Condition that can be downgraded but not necessarily, and depending on how much prolapse and whether there is a significant leak. -

I am C9L2, with Recurrent Bronchitis, Allergic Rhinitis, as well as Asthma... I recently took a blood test because a recent infection was quite severe. I got 1400 for my iGe levels. Will this have an impact on my L Status? -

this is an update to my previous post about my skin problem. I have another letter now. it's more strongly worded and includes "please assist in request to down grade and excuse field duties."
Would this convince the SAF MO to send me for medical board? In addition, the letter also says that my allergies affect my sleep...will this help in getting a stay out status?

answer: prepare statement of case for the next earliest medical board --} very high! most probably u need not to present at the board, meaning that the MOs there just read ur written case and give u a new pes. -
