well.. i certainly do not know of the pressures implicit or explicit the management has applied.Originally posted by the Bear:if you only knew the extent of the "problems" with medical leave...
how else would the organisation's No.1 come to have a "dialogue" with the staff, tell us he has no agenda and in the same breath keep harping on the medical leave...
then how else could you explain the fact that those who were on medical leave "sporadically" or "short-term MC" for over a certain unsaid limit were deprived of their performance bonus no matter how well they worked...
maybe it was a matter of his own decisions.. but i knew him since i joined the organisation in '96... he was no malingerer, and he worked hard.. maybe a little too hard and he tried to give more than he could in order to earn that bonus... and paid for it with his life...
sadly, we in the team, know... his family knows... but the management seems totally oblivious... and continues to squeeze us...

yes i agree then that the management has to blame for creating being insensitive, for creating such a lousy work environment, for being lousy bosses, etc etc. they should be removed for being incompetent in that sense. and any of the staff have the right and in fact the responsibility to make these known to even higher authorities. i would be surprised tt people havent started resigning.
but i don't think all these should justify a direct link between the unfortunate incident and the management. indirectly, perhaps.

No i do not and i am sure other do not advocate working sick. I mean it really depends on what the illness is and what job you are doing.
For example if you have a sprained ankle. By definition you are not well. But if you do a desk job then you theorectically could continue your job with minimal problems. But if you had a sprained ankole and work as a labourer then it might warrant an MC. I hope you know what I mean
Cheers
such problems are chronic. hence there is no right time to ask to see your MO or a specialist. you can do so anytime. in fact if the condition is real and serious, prolonging this may cause more harm than good.Originally posted by bismarck:i know this is from page 1 but erm
i suppose waht u mean is that, how long an MC is depends on how much yr sickness/injury affects yr work?
btw i frequently suffer from knee, ankle pains. occasional gout in my ankles. for my knees it sort of pains in diff locations, sometimes it's the bone, ligaments or the fluid(cant remember the name) between the joints.
then occasionally i get back pains too.
my question is, where and when do i tell my MO or somebody tat i have these problems ( i am not trying to keng NS, just that i dont want to do things that aggrevates my cond) if i go for specialist to review my probs, when must it be done? these problems dont happen all the time but sometimes it's actually quite painful...
so what pes will i be downgraded to?Originally posted by antoh:dont worry they will downgrade you.
i think realli, only an MO can tell u, and only after taking a look at ur condition.Originally posted by ah-soh:so what pes will i be downgraded to?
