excuse field training = no outfield for u... so if ur ict got majority days in any field training, then u really win liao. if lan lan u like to join in, then ur barang barang just throw inside the jeep rover/ tonner. no one will blame u one... low back pain.
excuse running = straightforward.
but if light exercise, u may want to join in. if pain occurs, just fall out.
if u wanna risk it, then refer to here:

Thanx eac! Sorry always bother u...Originally posted by eac:yes, it is definitely suffice for excuse ict activities for a few weeks.
but if u r seeking for medical review for downgrade permanently, pls submit more supporting medical documents like a more detailed specialist letter and a duplicate copy of the mri scan result, and arrange an medical review via the www.ns.sg 's eHealth system under the NSmen category...
back problems is easier than runner's knee to get a permanent downgrade.Originally posted by rogue13:hi eac,
paiseh 1 more question....
I suspect i also got runner's knee or something like that.. so compared to my back which one more likely to get excused/downgraded?
thx again

back problems is easier than runner's knee to get a permanent downgrade.
most back problems warrants a minimum pes c2l2 to even c9l9 perm, depending on severity. e.g. mild disc bulge, with or without having nerve pinching, numbness, tingling sensation, loss of sensation at toes/feet/thigh/ buttock bone spurs...etc.
read b4 some case files where few reservists with runner's knee get 3 to 6 months temporary downgrade and get medical review appt. on quarterly basis for around 1 year or so... if the runner's knee sees no improvement, then medical board will give a permanent downgrade status.
hi..eac....cuz this is only my temp pes so i am asking whether is there a possibilty that it will remain the same or will it be downgraded again or will it be upgraded after my 6 months probation.....Originally posted by eac:didnt u mentioned ur own clerical vocation pes in ur enlisting thread already? there u go...

it all depends on how u answer the MO when u go for ur medical review at the medical centre... e.g. improve, worse, no change seen... medication dosage/frequency +-crease ...etc.Originally posted by igniz1986:hi..eac....cuz this is only my temp pes so i am asking whether is there a possibilty that it will remain the same or will it be downgraded again or will it be upgraded after my 6 months probation.....
do it now... army environment will tend to make ur condition worse... sweat, dust, dirt, sand, mud, hot and humid...Originally posted by steviepool:I am currently graded pes C1L3 temporarily and will be gg for BMT in late jan.
I have this irritating skin problem of recurrent abscess on my butt and is currently under antibiotics. As i seeked treatment from a private specialist currently and i find it rather costly and would like to seek treatment from national skin center instead. However, i'm at a loss right now as it is so near to my enlistment and i dunno whether it is better for me to get advice from the MO during BMT b4 changing doctors or should i do it now?
Moreover, I feel that the specialists at NSC are more experienced in dealing with NSF and can provide better advice and give me the relevant excuses that i can get.Is this true?
Thanks.
u can/may request the hospital specialist to write u a downgrade letter to the respective unit medical centre, after the final diagnosis is given by the specialist.Originally posted by matchless:Hi, i got a question for any MOs around.
I'm currently Pes B reservist. Recently, i sprained my left thumb really bad (entire thumb went backwards). This happened while i was trying to get up from a chair.
The thing is, i have sprained this thumb many times in the past before since young. E.g. during sports and ns (once i did standing broad jump, landed backwards on my thumb). I also noticed that each time i injure it, the healing process takes longer and it feels like my thumb is just generally weaker. But i never see a specialist for this problem during ns time.
However, i broke/sprained it recently while trying to get up from a chair. That was when i realised maybe i should get some professional help. So i went to see my GP who promptly referred me to a specialist in CGH.
My appointment is coming soon. But i just want to ask the MOs here, how likely will the specialist downgrade me if he/she decides that there has been permanent damage to my joint all these while.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Thank you eac for your reply. It is my non-master hand, and i do agree with you that downgrading will have to depend on how serious the % is.Originally posted by eac:u can/may request the hospital specialist to write u a downgrade letter to the respective unit medical centre, after the final diagnosis is given by the specialist.
with the letter and a photocopy of the medical diagnosis report, the unit's mo will consider this b4 deciding whether to write a case statment for medical boarding... :
factors:
master hand?
affect handling of firing weapon?
any nerves, ligaments being tore? how bad the % it is?
since it only affects the thumb, downgrading in the military medical context, it will most likely within pes C1 range.
once u got the letter, the application is self apply, u go to http://www.ns.sg/nsPortal/appmanager/nsp/default?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=nsPortal_EHEALTH to ebook the medical appt to see the reservist unit's respective camp medical centre...Originally posted by matchless:Thank you eac for your reply. Just one final question, suppose if the specialist writes a recommendation letter to downgrade, how long will it take for the reservist unit to process everything and give a final status? I understand these things usually depend on the unit's manpower, but i'm assuming you are an MO so maybe you might have a rough idea?
Thanks again.
get the GP/hospital doctor to write u a memo to show the doctor when u enlist... due to the short short time to ur bmt, even u show the doctor, at most get an excuse lower limb activities for a couple of weeks... short term...Originally posted by steviepool:I've got another qn to ask...
I sprained my ankle abt 4 months ago and though it has recovered,it does not feel completely allright and is very weak. But i was treated by a chinese sinseh and a doctor told me tt ligaments damage take very long to recover fully and is there anything to prove this to MO???

I am a Platoon Medic for a Infantry Unit. (7 months in service already)
I am diagnosed with Hyperacusis at NUH recently and my specialist wrote a memo to my MO to excuse me from loud noise environment for 3months.
But within this 3 months, my Unit got ATP, Brunei training and more ranges training.
Is it possible to request from my specialist to write a letter to downgrade me ?
Is revocating me better or downgrading me better?
Will my Unit MO downgrade me even if the specialist did not specify to downgrade ?
Can i request to downgrade by talking to my MO even if my specialist never specify ?
I am currently Pes B
Sorry i have alot of questions.
Yes you should. Don't worry when you are done with your leave u can still see your MO.Originally posted by ChristopherWong:I wont get to see my MO until next year. Because i'm on block leave now.
Should i carry on to see my Specialist tomorrow to get a downgrade approval ?
I just recieved my Medical Board result and im temp downgraded to C2L2 N8 and excuse coverall (No.4) for 6 mths..Originally posted by eac:1) downgradeable to the pes C range. might excuse no4 uniform permanment and a possibility of a revocation to avoid further worsening.. it all depends on the recommendations the MAJ MO chairman and the 2 CPT MO doctors in a typical medical board meet.
2) medical board meets r typically held once a month within the formation.
3) the admin time to revocation IF THE MEDICAL BOARD GRANTS IT will take some time as the medical board result will need to give to the manpower branch (s1 branch). then to revocate within the same unit, camp, formation or totally transfer/post out.. all depends on s1 branch liao... so after medical board... must chase after the s1 branch people already.
If your problem gets worse, you can go see MO and get a medical review for your condition and they will downgrade you if they feel it requires a downgrade.Originally posted by Resentment:hmm , i got mild psoriasis , and my grandfather had hepatatis B but h already pass away , but after he pass away , my whole family , including my cousin they all , need to go for injection for a few months , i think is to test our blood for hep B , however when i go for medical checkup , i shown the MO all my psoriasis rashes , he still gave me a pes B , he said he giving me pes B for family history of Hep B and psoriasis. When i get enlisted and the situation get worser , can i request for a downgrade? is it possible?

with the specialist letter, downgrading is much easier and the process will take within 3 months, in which u will get the official pes certificate letter via post.
as long as u got supporting medical documents... memos, letters, x-rays, report... process will be faster than those who go for medical review with nothing in hand... then the doctor will refer u there and here and waiting for anything from the hospital....
if correct, it's deployment coding.Originally posted by daevo:I just recieved my Medical Board result and im temp downgraded to C2L2 N8 and excuse coverall (No.4) for 6 mths..
I wuld like to ask the N8 refers to wad? Im from Navy btw..
