The reason being my knee injury. From my specialist letter, he says that my I have traumatic chondromalacia of my right knee and Patella Maltracking. He says that it's due to my high arched feet, most shock will be transferred to my knee and lower back instead of the soles and it cannot be treated. According to the letter, clinical examination reveal positive Patella Grind test as well as Patella Tendonitis of my right knee, with wasting of Quadriceps muscle.
During BMT, I experienced pain just below my right knee, at the tendon region. But it was controllable as we did not really do much physical activities. But now I'm posted to signal and I did the 5 bx etc and my knee acted up and the pain came back and its worse. When I shift weight onto it, it hurts.
Prior to NS, I was a national schools badminton player for my school, and my injury arose from there. I understand that signallers are required to carry lines, lay them and run on uneven ground. I'm very worried that my knee will be permanently injured. I've undergone physiotherapy but it doesn't seem to help.
I'm currently having the pain and I was wondering if I should go to a and e to get a check then book back in and visit the MO because I can't walk properly now. Or can you guys reccomend other procedures.
Thanks sincerely for reading.
yes, u can see mo, as its every soldier right to seek medical assistance should it be needed. (as stated in the directive GOM...)Originally posted by singaporejohnny:Got a question wanna ask .,.

should i see the MO about this ? but what can the MO do to help me .
Try to relax more and don't give yourself too much pressure. Try to find things to do that will enable your body and mind to relax when its close to bedtime so it will be easier for you to go to sleep.Originally posted by singaporejohnny:Got a question wanna ask .,.

for hair loss... a BIG NO, u dont noe 99.9% of all recruits r BOTAK once during bmt meh...Originally posted by bryanw:hi MO, hair loss and acne outbreak can downgrade? or skin allergy when sweat will get itchy?![]()
Originally posted by eac:it all depends on how u answer the MO when u go for ur medical review at the medical centre... e.g. improve, worse, no change seen... medication dosage/frequency +-crease ...etc.
ur input and the doctor diagnosis will be summarised as ur case statement to be reviewed at the particular medical board meet upon/nearing ur pes expiry month...
I need some advice again. If you recall recently, i asked some questions regarding my badly sprained thumb.Originally posted by eac:once u got the letter, the application is self apply, u go to http://www.ns.sg/nsPortal/appmanager/nsp/default?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=nsPortal_EHEALTH to ebook the medical appt to see the reservist unit's respective camp medical centre...
with the specialist letter, downgrading is much easier and the process will take within 3 months, in which u will get the official pes certificate letter via post.
as long as u got supporting medical documents... memos, letters, x-rays, report... process will be faster than those who go for medical review with nothing in hand... then the doctor will refer u there and here and waiting for anything from the hospital....
read my previous answer again, irregardless of inherited/acute/chronic... the base document of medical board is the inputs in the case statement... period.Originally posted by igniz1986:hi eac, cuz my condition is genetic .....i inherit this from my parents....so i dont think it will have any change..im not so sure...so how are they going to decide on my pes status after 6 mths
i dunno abt the reservist ippt stuff, since i am exempted from ippt now that i m a reservist as well.Originally posted by matchless:I need some advice again. If you recall recently, i asked some questions regarding my badly sprained thumb.
I saw the specialist today and i have another appointment scheduled 1 month later. No bones have been fractured but there may be permanent damage to ligaments. Anyway, the specialist did not recommend a downgrade for now but he gave me an excuse for IPPT for 3 months.
Reason is my IPPT window is closing this week. Last year i procrastinated my IPPT till the last 2 months. I did it twice but failed on both occasions. The 2nd attempt i got silver for everything except 2.4km which i failed by 7 seconds. I was so confident i could pass on my 3rd attempt until the unfortunate incident when i broke/sprained my thumb.
I know i won't be charged for defaulting last year's IPPT since i attempted it, but because i did not pass, they will ask me to register for RT.
Also, i understand that there is some window for RT as well. So with a 3 months excuse, what am supposed to do for the time being?
I'm waiting for my next appointment to see what the specialist recommends. But for the time being, i need some advice as to what i should do with my 3 months excuse IPPT letter for now. Like who should i submit to, etc. Also, is it possible for me to appeal for last year's window? For example, i can book 2 more IPPT slots before my window closes but due to my injury, there's no way i can attempt it.
Thanks.
Well it's temp only why u need to change uniform? You'll only be excused stay in unless you unit MO permits you to. After 3 months, u need to be review by medical board again. Then you'll get a perm pes status.Originally posted by Igtenos:Hi MO
I recently got downgraded temp to E9L9 for 3 months for severe reaction to insect bites and severe discoid ezcema. Do I need to changed my uniform to No.3 and will I be excused stay-in? And after the 3 months do I get a review again at the Medical board?
Lastly to ask, wat are my chances of being upgraded to pes B again?
Thanks in advance for answering.
So do I have to follow the land deployment code as I have ops duty in camp sometime this week?Originally posted by tarutaru:Well it's temp only why u need to change uniform?
