If i'm not wrong, the reason for asking parents to go is so that the psychiatrist can talk to your parents to maybe learn more about your childhood or gain more background information. This might help them figure out the cause of the problem or they might just offer advice to your parents how to help you when you are at home etc.Originally posted by goldevil:going MMI to c a psychiatrist next week .

my counsuellor at saf counsuelling centre said they wont laugh if u declare urself as timid .
but i dun think timidity medically recognised in army .
timidity nt mental problems .
also i a bit weak in complex movement .
even catapillar knot also take dam long to learn .
Everyone have different type of fears, some more than other. Try to overcome them slowly. Courage can be build and fears can be countered after suitable therapy.
Don't give yourself stress when learning new things. Even if everyone knows already but only you don't, don't stress yourself if not it will be even harder to learn. Just keep the final goal in mind and aim to reach it. -

Hey mo,
I went to my 2nd medical check up & my ECG & backbone has no more problem and they put me to pes B.
But im really weak....When i do 5 situps my backbone will have pain as im really skinny 50kg-175cm and im sure all the other stations i would do badly too.
Is there anyway to downgrade ?
And also if im in pes B and wants to downgrade while in army,the 2 years will still be the same right ?

the fact that u r pes b, the mo already noted in the medical system as physically weak/poor physique. that's all.
there is a difference between medically fit and physically fit.
e.g. this guy is 1.8m tall with solid muscle physique (physically), but he is suffering from a rare blood disorder (medically).
and u r considered physical unfit only.
unless u passed ur napfa with SILVER latest 2 weeks b4 ur official enlistment date made known to u after ur studies via another postal ns enlistment letter, 24months ns for u. else, veto factor for 22months ns is the napfa silver.
the only advise to u is to train up. that's all.
Strengthen and build muscles in ur abs, obliques and buttocks. and most importantly, build up ur body core muscle. go research those exercises on this.

hi. i wanna ask. my unit MO has just boarded me for a C9L3. From what he told me is tt, this will be send to the medical board and the board will then decide whether i will be downgraded.
Jus wanna ask is the chances high? if it is successful, how will they inform me regarding my new PES status? by mail? will they inform my unit as well?

2) 99% will be approved, provided have enough supporting documents... when a medical case is considered for medical board, that means got case to fight what... -

I've a medial meniscus tear on my right knee. My specialist ask me to go for surgery. After surgery i'm required to be on clutches for 4 weeks. I'm wondering do i need to inform anyone about this? (My unit RSM, OC, MO?)
For the golden question, do i get to downpes? I've been boarded for downpes due to flat feet for C2L2, does this warrant a further downpes? -

just have ur op scheduled first, then inform ur superiors, saying specialist said fixed on this day liao, cannot drag or else condition worsen and cannot improve if delayed...
even if medical board again, also within pes c range. highly possible a temp 3/6 months and excuse lower limbs only... -
HI all,
I have been having atypical chronic chest pains in the left region of my chest and in the back and left part of the neck during physical exertion. It has gotten so bad that the pain even comes and go during rest and even climbing stairs has left me breathless. As a result, I have to see a cardio in CGH at March and I have seen the MMI Respiratory Specialist in Jan (though I must return again on Feb). I have mainly 2 questions -
a) If they are unable to ascertain why I am having these pains nor are able to derive a suitable treatment, will I still be downpes?
b) I am currently Out Of Training. Some has said that my posting out will be delayed because I have to see a specialist. Is that true? Is there any way to speed up my posting out? I wanna stay in Tekong with an 8-5 job if possible. -

so no diff, plus u are already flatfooted and thats a perm c2l2.
