Yes, there will be a Fit for Instruction (FFI) medical test in a medical centre for those pending going on a vocational training course.

Hi all... I have heriditary neurofibromatosis. Causes me numbness in legs at times due to the tumours (neurofibromasts), and also my knees keep on popping when i twist my legs. Have yet to see specialist. Now no time to see due to bmt. How should I go about it, and is it a downgradable condition? I'm worried it may affect my health.

Erm, I don't know my PES grade yet as i am yet to enlist. Less then a year more to go.
Just don't want kenna some low grade then become storeman or clerk for 2 years. (No offence to any storeman or clerk.)
My eyesight is like 800 plus per eye, so getting Lasik to fix the problem. Not just for NS but for my benefits as well.
I worry even if i correct my vision, MINDEF will still only accept my old vision and grade me low low....

You can if you want. Your eyesight is tested when u go for your medical checkup and not base on any existing medical records.

got a lot of commercial schools in singapore what lol. if not go overseas lar. if you got money, apply at Yale or Stanford, more prestigious than our local Uni's combined.
to enter local Uni and the course you want, ensure you have good grades first before worrying about this sorta thingy.

hmmm my friend says that upon ord they will issue nsfs with a cert and your depression problem will be reflected, some employers will request to see the ord cert, anybody can shed some light on this?

That Certificate of Service (COS) will NOT show any PES information at all.
It's only show just your name, NRIC number, rank, vocation, ORD date, Enlistment date, length of service, conduct, and performance.
We have already ORD, so we know...
