Hi, have a few qns to ask,
My stools are black and i went to the polyclinic. They decided to refer me to a specialist in NUH.
However, i am ording in 3 months time. If this issue is not resolved in this 3 months, does that mean that i have to pay for the subsequent medical bills myself after I ord?
I come from a poor family so it might be hard for my family and I to bear the medical cost ourselves.

yup, so settle it b4 the ORD date...
after ORD, pay from own bank... no more subsidy...
even if this medical condition arises during service period, there is no subsidy for treatment for this thing until it is resolve?
I thought they maybe would subsidize u for medical condition u have during service until u fully recover or u ord, whichever is later.

They will only subsidize if its a injury due to service. Black stools might mean blood in stools which are cause by factors that you are unlikely able to link to NS.
I have got a place in local uni,but what if i got diagnosed with a mental condition like depression and AvPD.Will my place be voided???

All medical conditions diagnose in NS should be kept private and not release to the unis unless you choose to declare. If your condition is under control then its fine but if you are still seeking treatment etc, i personally would say its your responsibility to inform the uni so that they can make appointment for you to visit the sch counsellors etc if required.
how abt granting deferment for studies?is there a policy that mental case cannot be granted deferment for studies??

Deferment is to delay your studies.
Disruption is to take 'leave' from NS to persue your uni degree ONLY IF you ORD in sept when uni starts in Aug.
You refering to deferment or disruption?
Either way, mental cases should not affect either applications.
Yes,disruption.
THANKS.
Hi... I have a few questions to ask. I am quite worried about my conditions worsening.
I currently have scoliosis... MO have checked before and say it was "mild" but the back pain continues to linger after training. Should i consider refering to a specialists for more checks?
I also have low blood pressure (90/50~ ish) and suffer from dizzyness during activities such as route marches or simple standing up / sitting down. Is low bp downgradable?
Other persisting conditions I have is past asthma history and glaucoma. Although my glaucoma has stabilised for now since last check, I am quite worried for it given that my other conditions are worsening, and vision is one of the most important...
My question is ... is glaucoma downgradeable, and should i see the respective specialists for each problem? Is it better to get a tekong MO to refer or just go directly to polyclinic for referral. thanks.

if you need immediate treatment, go to polyclinic with your 11B and ask for referral to a speacialist. go see an opthalmologist (eye specialist) for opinion and treatment.

hi,
i went to see a govt cardiologist for MVP, he simply write a memo abt my condition addressing "To Whom It May Concern" . i would like to know if this memo is enough to see MO for medical review? all my test reports were not released to me.
It's sufficient.
Hi,
I recently injured my back and am unable to sit or stand for long.
Went to see the polyclinic and was refered to a specialist. (date pending)

Get the doctor's memo and call up your designated camp medical centre for an immediate medical review.

I had done a 2D echo test which state that I had mild eccentric mitral regurgitation. Is it possible to do a medical review with just the test result and no doctor's memo?

Key Point No. 6
6) Make a trip down to the respective unit camp medical centre. Give the MO whatever supporting documents you have in hand. E.g. Specialist memo/report (most usually the case and highly recommended), x-ray films, CT/MRI scan report, blood investigation lab report... etc.

Dear all, I have the following medical problems and I would really appreciate some advice on whether/how I should sound them off.
1. I experience chest tightness, shortness of breath and feel light headed during intense physical activities. I have fainted twice when I was young and my granny died recently of heart problems. I have seen a specialist and he suspected me of mvp, thick heart walls, extra sound and leaking valves through ECG and preliminary observation. However, the an echo test showed no problems with the heart structure. I'm genuinely worried that something might happen to be if I were to keep exerting myself.
2. I sneeze excessively and frequently experience blocked nose and frontal headache under dusty environments. My (maternal) aunt and uncle have lost their sense of smell after similar problems. A doctor did a skin-prick test and concluded that I have allergic rhnitis and that I'm allergic to dust. Another doctor concluded that I have "deviated nasal septum, turbinate hypertrophy and nasal neuralgic headache". All the sprays and medication that they gave did not seem to work.
3. I injured my left wrist after repeated strains and a fall during a bike course. Then I realised my wrist is visibly not aligned witih my palm so I'm not sure f this is a natural deformity that makes me prone to wrist injuries or if it's a result of the fall/strains. My wrist and arm hurts alot with lateral movement, even during simple movements like pushing the door. I'm still observing my conditions to see if it will get better or worse.
Thanks so much!!
p.s. I'm pes A btw.

hi there. i stumped upon this forum and have some questions to ask.
i currently under pes A, but i fractured my lower part of the fibula during a parachute jump. had an immediate operation and a metal plate and some screws were inserted to hold the fracture.
in view of this, wat will be my likely pes status and will be in a perm or temp one? i hasnt went back to camp since the operation. so do i need to pass my MO anything after my status is over?
thanks.

It's within PES C range.
Duration of Temporary or Permanent is very dependable on a specialist memo after a review appointment with the hospital. Usually, there will be one follow up review with the specialist after the operation. So, at that review appointment, please just get the doctor to write you a medical memo to the camp MO.

Can I say that you have already submit a service injury report since u mentioned it is due to Parachute? My personal feeling is that, service injury has a "higher weightage" where downgrade is concern. As the injury is due to service, they may consider to downgrade u further rather than as what is written in the pink book.
No matter what, I believe you will be downgraded. Most probably permanent. Anything from C2L9 to E1L9.
thanks alot!
went back to the MO with the memo and got temp C2L9 for 6months instead. by the way, is up-pes-ing automatic or compulsory?
