thanks for your queriesOriginally posted by thoreldan:i from infantry unit last time
1.yeap, you cant go home unless there's public holiday. even for night-offs u normally need to book-in by 2359 or eariler.
2.depends on how u define siong.Unit training is definitely not as demanding as in training school likes sispec/ocs. But the no. of field camp is numerous until u become numb. When there's no outfield, most of the training would be some PT or running. Dring my time, 12-3pm normally nap time.
3 most are downgrade personals back in my camp. a lot depends on the csm whether they want to put u into rp or not. for mp not so sure.
it depends on alot of things u noe. ok lah.. i assume u r asking from the point of view of a would-be enlistee, hence asking as a men in camp. yes, the general policy is stay in if u r not married. this applies to all so u r not alone (unless someone is working in the unit on service side which has no such requirement, e.g. clerk)Originally posted by chikopek:i got something to ask regarding the combat vocations of the army:
1) is it true that every soldiers from the combat unit can only go home during weekends ie have to stay at camp during weekday night even though no night training? if that's so it sounds like going to jail
2) is combat unit really very siong? some say siong so say no training quite relaxed
3) how to get into the vocations RP and MP?
thanks for answering my queries
quite alot of the outfield are 3day 2 nights one.Originally posted by chikopek:thanks for your queries
btw are infantry many night trainings or not?![]()
To add-on for Clerks: Depends on Medical Condition and unit policy. I clerk last time but unit policy states clerks will be treated like the rest. Stay-in, during out-field training also detail to go outfield to send ration, "brang brangs" to officers and enciks (i.e. waiter in the field).Originally posted by wuming78:it depends on alot of things u noe. ok lah.. i assume u r asking from the point of view of a would-be enlistee, hence asking as a men in camp. yes, the general policy is stay in if u r not married. this applies to all so u r not alone (unless someone is working in the unit on service side which has no such requirement, e.g. clerk)
siong or not, depends on wat u mean by siong. generally would say, yes, quite siong. tt is wat tough training is about rite? if trg is senang and piece of cake, wats the point? u wont feel challenged and satisfied, and more importantly, competent if the button is pressed.
RP and MP vocations - mabbe u can indicate ur interest if u r posted to BMTC for ur BMT. but dont hope for too much too. if u kanna mono-intake, den its the same unit for ur entire ns life.
So even service n technical needs to stay in?Originally posted by octega:To add-on for Clerks: Depends on Medical Condition and unit policy. What makes me wonder is for those with more serious medical condition, wouldn't the officers kena if the clerk collapse in field?
im sure not all clerks are made to go outfield. the pes status clearly states for some (the L code) tt they are not to be deployed outfield.Originally posted by octega:To add-on for Clerks: Depends on Medical Condition and unit policy. the first condition may not always be satisfied.Originally posted by chikopek:stay in is no problem 4 me as long as we can leave the camp when there's no night training...
4 me, training siong nvm, challenging can olreadi
signz...maybe my unit is a reservist training center, the officers and enciks out numbered the men, so the men, including the clerks are multi-tasking and have to double up on everything.Originally posted by wuming78:im sure not all clerks are made to go outfield. the pes status clearly states for some (the L code) tt they are not to be deployed outfield.
