Cannot make it instructor

  Reading through all these posts reminds me of my NS days...in the last millenium...
  
  Also reminds me of this malay sergeant from another platoon who ate first while his recruits all in long queue,then he sort of looked at us and sniggered.(together with his mat instructor cronies)(You get the idea that he was saying something like "haha,you all chao recruits queue up la")On the other hand,my BMT sarge waited for all of us to grab our food and sit down before he went to collect his food.
  
  Apparently this ah mat let his rank got to this head.Should let him go to combat unit and he will realise sgt is nothing there...
  
  This mat sergeant also refused to let somebody take a breather/stop and drink water during route march.If anyone happened to that trainee coz of that,I am sure that ah mat would had been charged very jialat for ill treatment.
  
  By the way,how come so many ah mat instructors at BMTC?

  Route march have mandatory rest every 4 km, also for recruits to drink water in case of heat exhaustion. This I know coz I was once a instructor at BMTC.
  
  If he really did that, then he's setting himself up for punishment.

  That time,I think we were nearing the next checkpoint,something like 500m more to go before we took a break.This instructor probably didnt want somebody to temporarily fall out and then rejoin the march again.

  If that's the case, then that could be the reason. Got to push the recruits sometimes to their limits to train their mental strength.
  
  But eating before your men gets to eat really sets a bad example for the men, especially if he's doing in plain view of the men.
