I am in the midst of my BMT. I was issued an outpatient leave of around 2 1/2 weeks (stay at home and sleep =]) because of torn ligament. Now it is almost healed. I missed alot of important lessons alot of road marches, and even range itself. So is it safe to conclude that i will be put OOC ?
If in the event that i will be put OOC, what's next? I am very confused about this part can anyone clarify.
My main questions
1) Will i be put OOC?
2) If i unlucky kenna OOC, when will they let me know? I heard they love to torture recruits by making you go through the whole thing and inform you that you OOC right before you POP.
3)What will i do if i OOC? I missed so much lessons, whats going to happen if i get posted to infantry/artillery etc.
4)Generally when will i go back for recourse? I know confirm need to go back unless you guys can suggest ways i can avoid recourse heheh
I really hope all my questions can be answered (if possible) because i feel really lost right now. Life seems so bleak, i cant even POP and fuck off Tekong which is everyone's wish (nearing POP date by only 3 weeks some more) The unknown leads to fear

You see, in order for a recruit to pass out from BMT, there is a certain set of criterions to be fulfilled, like going through a certain course, going through your range, etc. By missing out on your range, you could fail to meet these criterions. You could however compensate for these by going for makeup range, etc.
When a recruit has OOC, he's immediately told or at least informed as soon as possible. When that happens, he becomes like a helper around the company for the platoon until the end of the course. He does not have to participate in the actual activities, but his help is required in preparing the stores, or some other minor stuffs.
Depending on your condition and availability of the course you will be retaking, you could be immediately goes into a new BMT course once the current one is finished, or a few months later. There are some who pass their BMT close to the end of their 2 and a half years. If you are not posted to a new BMT course, chances are you will be sent to a unit as a man, not the combat type, but the helper type.

next - depends on if ur med status is going to be affected. MO will prob need to see you after your long MC to endorse ur MC and at the same time, review ur case.
if no change, den u will wait for next bmt.
if there is a need for change, den it will depend on the med review.
in the meantime u will prob be staying at the company line doing saigang. there is a possibility of being posted out to unit to do saigang, although i would say the chances are slim - it happens if u r given a temp downgrade (say, pes c for 3 months)
as for avoiding recourse, the answer is no, there is no such way unless u get downgraded. and the hearsay about making one finish the course just to OOC b4 POP is just tt - hearsay.

Ya,some people wait until a few months before ORD then they go BMT.So you have CPLs and 3SGs doing BMT.At the POP,they will shout "ORD loh" while the new birds will shout "POP loh"!

If my pes status doesnt change, i will go through BMT with them, doing everything they are doing, even though i missed so many important lessons and my leg not fully recovered (when i get back i will still be light duty) ?? Wuming78 : I see some people coming back for recourse almost when they are close to ORD though. They dont fit in the 2 categories you mentioned whereby wait for the next BMT or get reviewed then downgraded. So how does this third group fits in?

for ur case, since ur condition dun seem so serious, i dont see that happening. u may get a temp downgrade, afterwich u wil go back for ur bmt. -

nowadays bmt is entirely different from the old times liao i think.
it seems now that you do not even have to pass ippt in order to clear your bmt, meaining you can fail ippt but still pop from tekong and get posted to unit.
my men who juz came in few months ago from bmt some did not clear either ippt or soc or both!
now tekong pass the problem to us haiz die die must make them pass. -

My PC to me that those will fail ippt will be considered as attended bmt but not passed bmt. However they will not have to do the recourse again if their attendence and behaviour is good. -
