Recruits who enlist will get about $450-$600 depending on which period of the month they enlist.
The first pay is always alot because it includes $30 (neccessities allowance). This is for you all the spend on whatever needed for you for NS, e.g. transport to Pasir Ris Interchange/SFT, bag, u-wear, etc. So that you wun have excuses of no $$.
Then the pay includes $350 basic allowance.
SAF pays you in advance, meaning... the pay you get on July 10, is from the enlistment date to July 9 PLUS July 10 to August 9.
Usually this amounts to around $500.
Thru the course of NS, you will have this "lump" payments after every promotion because your promotion back pay is paid up.

we r tokking abt basic recruit pay from August 2004 onwards.
which means an increment from $350 to $500.
well... august come liaoz then u will get wat i mean.
the $500 in not inclusive of neccessities allowance or something like that. cos now they still getting $350 every mth, then from august onwards then will be $500 every mth. -
guess the rumour come true eh....

so that means every rank will have pay increase? The other thread says ministers, civil servants who have their pay cut will have them reinstate.... how about regulars? Will have pay increase?

Really? If a recurit is 500, den a sgt should be about 700 rite? (Not inculsive of combat pay...) or may the 150 is combat allowance since all recruits all combat based.

hmm... got another latest news oso 1st hand,
my fren at Lim Chu Kang camp, the Singapore Armour Regiment (SAR), he serving BMT there now, he say his pay only increase by $100 only lehz.. that means from $350 to $450.
how come so strange?
tekong recruits get $500, SAR recruits get $450...

The thing about this "rumoured" pay raised.
I find it abit weird that it wasn't announced during the CIO conference 3 days ago.
But there are lots of "chatter" by WOs and CSMs that there are going to be increase from July 10 or maybe August.
This increase is going to be about $100-$150 across the board.
A S-2SG will get near $1000. INF 3SG about $850.
Well, I guess the only way to find out is just wait till the pay comes. -
