wah... officers increase so much?!Originally posted by edLow:Source I heard:
MEN/SPECIALISTS: add $150
OFFICERS: add $300 to $400
For the men/specialists' increment, it's likely confirm. My frd heard it from his CO parade already, but the amount isnt confirm.
As for the officers' increment, I have no idea. They shouldnt increase the officers allowance. Becos there are too many of black sheeps among them whom are doing nothing except wasting SAF resources
u wanna write to them based on hearsay that their allowances are going to get raised?Originally posted by kindaichi83:The service do lots of shit... I do lots of shit.. and combat have already got their combat pay.. me is so going to write to the straits times for this...
pay increases with inflation. allowances too.Originally posted by noel:This is so unfair. Inflation has not worked in the same direction. This has done great discredit to the services of former nsf like myself.
Aint i as valuable?[/img]
My point is, inflation has not increased in such an exaggerated amount relative to the increment of wages(allowance).Originally posted by wuming78:pay increases with inflation. allowances too.
u cant expect them to backdate pay or allowance rite? does any company in this world practise tt??
hm.. they increase someone complain. they dont increase someone else will complain.Originally posted by noel:My point is, inflation has not increased in such an exaggerated amount relative to the increment of wages(allowance).
it may seem shallow but YES i would like to see that. lol. Would'nt seem fair otherwise. im so jealous. Plus if IS true, where do you think the xtra cash influx would come from? Ans:The NON-nsf aka Tax Payers.Originally posted by wuming78:do u rather they increase the allowance annually on par with inflation? is tt going to be more acceptable?
if people complain due to increase in cost tt is still understandable. but increase in pay??
mabbe u would rather they increase allowance yearly but im sure if they are going to do tt they will get a backlash from the public.Originally posted by noel:it may seem shallow but YES i would like to see that. lol. Wow you make it seem so rhetorical.Originally posted by wuming78:mabbe u would rather they increase allowance yearly but im sure if they are going to do tt they will get a backlash from the public.
well. all the taxpayers are paying, and they are paying not only to the recruits but to singapore's development, defense, etc.
u r jealous of their increasing allowance? but what about ur pay? u think ur parents should be jealous that u r getting more pay than what they had gotten? will u be jealous of ur children for getting a higher figure pay than u in future?
tts a side effect of progress. would u rather we regress so that there is the perception of equality across GENERATIONS?
btw, 3-4 years ago (tts.. 2000-2001?) the recruits were already getting $350.Originally posted by noel:Wow you make it seem so rhetorical.
Nah its not on such a large scale like generations. I would not be jealous of my children getting more;things will obviously cost more in the future. That's progress.
A better analogy would be the comparison of prices for consumers goods between the "thens" the "now" and the "future". Does'nt make sense that nsfs are paid 500 bucks now and 220 bucks like 3-4 years before. Things just ain't that expensive nowadays. I don't even see a 100% price hike in transportation. It just does'nt add up.
hm.. i seriously dont think they will be increasing pay for the combat personnel only. the only thing they can do, is to perhaps increase the combat allowance. not sure if tts the case u will still go ahead with your letter?Originally posted by kindaichi83:I am saying that once they confirmed that only combat will be getting the 'pay rise', I will write to complain.
My agruements:
1) The service personnel, especially those in the logisitics and maintainence have to do lots of physical work everyday. Including carrying of heavy loads, cleaning up big tanks, loading supplies. They are as physically exhausting as those in combat side. Compares tp those instructors who sit around doing nothing all day., they deserved better.
2) Those in clerks vocations, have tons of paperworks to do. Some of which are very important and they always have to rush reports. This no doubt gives them mental stress so they deserved better.
3) Most combat personnel get to stay in. They don't need to have transportation allowances. Service personnel are likely to go home everyday. They need their transportation fees and of coz dinner... Combat get 3 meals a day. Service only gets lunch.
4) They already have their combat pay. What more they want? Service are as dangerous as combat. Some deal with ammo, some deal with tanks, some deal with heavy machinery, some deal with tons of highly sensitive paperworks, all these are as dangerous as those in combat.
5) Service personnel are always the ones to be tasked to do sai kang. Because combat people are more important, sai kang always left to the service personnel.
In other words, SAF SUCKS!!!!!! They looked down on service personnel. Without us, the SAF could'nt work at all. GO TO HELL, top personnel of the SAF.
