as for the bag for checking ? i see many people mentioning that they prepare one item to use and one to put inside the bag for checking? what does it means the bag is untouched ? thanks.. -
The list seems to have covered everything you might required.
When you are posted to your unit, the list might be slightly different as each formation have different SOP and required additional stuffs.

2 sets of items - one for inspection, one for use. however this is not necessary for ALL items, unless you are rather rich. -

1) Get your Yakult bottles, fill with sand.
2) Wrap some paper (a little thick ok la) at the bottom part of the Yakult bottle to give the solid look, make it such that it DOES NOT LOOK LIKE A YAKULT BOTTLE!
3) Then, wrap in blue tape.
4) To make it more real, I use my wooden clothes pegs (those cheap ones), break into 2 and use the uneven side to prop against the top of the bottle, so the smooth surface faces outside. Then I proceed to cover the clothes peg with black tape, and the top of the dummy nade needs to be black-taped as well.
5) And there you go, a real-life, lookalike grenade!

for those going to enlist BMT. u don't need to bring so much things. cos most of the daily essntials will be issued to u.
so, travel light. cos if u bring so much things, when u get there u still have to carry your heavy duffel bag. if u are in platoon 4, good luck carrying all that stuffs up 4 flights of stairs.
bringing too much also means that your parents will to carry abck all those unwanted stuffs. so spare a thought for them.
here's my recommedation for what to bring.
a small lock. (don't bring number lock!) clothes hangers. (5 or 6 should be enough) a permanent black marker pen. very important! (for writing down your name for most of the army stores issued to u) washing powder and brush. very important! (to wash clothes) a alarm clock (the louder the better) a small radio/discman (Optional) ( to kill boredom, but frequency in tekong is very bad) some black tapes (for taping up your field pack and SBO) liquid soap and shampoo some medication like panadol, etc a pajamas (for those who die die must sleep in pajamas)
basically that all you'll need! -

Bring toiletries also.. The CQ store may not issue toilet paper when you first go in. The set of toothbrush and toothpaste they issue isn't exactly suitable for usage. Bring your own and use the given set for standby's. Bring a shaver and nailclippers as well.
Some snacks will be good. Cup noodles too. Usually will have a spare bed and cupboard in the bunk so the section can have a stores/ food cupboard.
Extra HP batteries very impt. Unless your sergeant is a good friend of yours and you can pass your battery to him to charge. OTOH, you can also use the payphone. You'll be issued with a phonecard on the first day.
Something optional but useful would be a duster. Get those with plastic bristles rather than feathers. Extremely useful for cleaning cupboard tops during standby area every morning. Get a rag as well for cleaning other stuff.
PTP is basically damn slack.. Only 2 lessons a day and you just sit around and laze in between and after dinner. No sleeping in bunk during office hours though. So discmans, receivers and books are useful for killing time.
Good luck if you enlist into Viper or Taurus coy. Hehehe -
Regarding the no sleeping in the bunks rule, it really depends on which company you're in. I remember during my whole PTP-BMT experience, almost everyday had at least one to two hours of nap time. SAF powder is superb for drying up wet soggy boots during field camp though.
And regarding black tape, the saying goes: Black tape is the answer to all problems. You'll find out why soon enough.
Basically while there are standard school standing orders, how they are implemented on a company level depends very much on the kind of people your Officer Commanding and Company Sergeant Major are. If they are the super garang, follow the letter of the law type, then good luck. They will stress your instructors and your instructors will in turn have to be tougher on you. On the other hand, if they are the switch off kind, then your instructors will be less stressed by them and be more relaxed with you. Unless you happen to get one of those psycho garang instructors...
All in all, BMT was one of the most memorable experiences of my life! Glad I went through it!
