my time just missed yours 3/1985 to 9/1987
Was in Hawk then pioneer batch with Mamba. Practically lived on tekong whole 2 years after SAFINCOS. Duty NCO not as bad as weekend guard. Totally meaningless if you carried broomstick around for 2 hour prowl instead of wpn in other camps. Sunday guard between batches was worst as no recruits, so all instructors take turns etc.
At least COS followed battlion book in-out, Reservist had to stay in over weekend for COS duty.
Nowadays ITD book in Sunday night and book out Friday night/early saturday.
