Queries on OCS

  Didn't realize how sophisticated the simulation tests had become; back in my time it usually took half a day's schedule. Most of us (the unambitious lot) just squat one corner then & let the super-on's do all the improvising ~lol~
  
  As for peer appraisal, I dunno if things's changed nowadays but it used to be that doing i/c (recruits take turns) & writing the daily i/c report before lights-off were tasks of very grave importance. Imagine trying to complete the latter after returning from range shooting at 3am! There was so SOP format then, but my BMT instructors used to arbitrarily read out the accounts when they felt like it, & indirectly let platoon "street justice" handle any falsehood opinions (no formal code of conduct either).
  
  Anyway, just be natural & always practical in your behaviour. As long as you show initiative & resourcefulness, other will instinctively respond to your dynamism. I remember Lee Hsien Loong mentioning lately, when talking to the Malays, that only 6-7% of the BMT intake makes it to OCS, so that calculates out to be just 2-3 recruits on average out of a platoon of 40. That's the rough odds; SISPEC's not a bad fallback if you don't qualify.

  If you're enlisting into BMT on 30 September, then most likely your OCS intake would be in December. Therefore you'll be in the Charlie / Hotel intake, not the Alpha/ Sierra/ Tango intake. So your chances would probably be lesser. Usually during Tri-service term the companies are filled to the max i.e 40 cadets per platoon.

  quite disheartning to hear that...1 question, since my enlistment date is 30 SEP, so which means my POP would be 3 months later? 30 DEC? Is it a standard time frame or it may be like PTP phase, where recruits can disrupt?
  
  It sounds hilarious to disrupt from BMT...i dont know the fact, there's no such practise right?

  yes, there is no way a recruit can disrupt his BMT, unless he goes out of course.
  
  and yes, the total duration of BMT is around 3 months including PTP, but not exactly so.
