i will be enlisting 1/10 school 2s enhanced bmt, heard from my fren most likely will be Leopard, how is the company huh? any advices?

My friend, who is a sec comm there, told me that attached with an obese company is the most hectic life in his NSF service.
why?
They have pt everyday because they have to lose weight. Thats their objective. Which company has runs to and fro SISPEC just before dinner? and Chin Ups Regime before last parade? Which companies restricts the amount of canteen breaks and admin time to their charges?
It maybe tiring to both Sec Comms and Recruits but it is rewarding when u have a recruit who weighs in at 110kg on the 1st day and POP weighing just 75kg

ya, and they are excuse from a lot of things. sgts cannot tekan them, 5BX can only do half squat and heel raise. cannot run, cannot do SOC, excuse field camp etc etc...Originally posted by chikopek:I agree with you. I beg to differ..Why do you want to tekan them?I'm a PES C9 recourse personnel and I'm a Specialist, and those who are not , are also vocationally trained and are experienced soldiers.A tekan session is pointless and IMHO,its a waste of time disrupting our work in our unit to make us go back to Tekong and do some wayang show.You think we are recruits for tekan fodder, dream on.Most of us have served longer than half of the instructors who will take our batch.We usually have mutual respect for each other's vocation.You're an Infantry Leader, so I might defer to you in terms of Infantry knowledge.I'm an Armament Specialist, so if you ask me for advice regarding your weapon system, you should respect my judgement.What I'm saying is that since we are not combat-fit anymore, why bother to put us through a course that is wayang in nature and will never be of any use since we are not geared for any advanced combat course after BMT.If you hvae a vocation, you should be deemed fit to be a soldier in your own expertise already.Originally posted by Gordonator:ya, and they are excuse from a lot of things. sgts cannot tekan them, 5BX can only do half squat and heel raise. cannot run, cannot do SOC, excuse field camp etc etc...

agreed. most OC at ITD when was there (1985-87) were 'between jobs' being a regular you served 2 years active unit, 2 years school (includes BCTC, SISPEC, Service school and NService Training Centres), 2 years higher formation (as understudy like 2IC etc) or various combinations of this sequence.Originally posted by kopiosatu:yeah but we won't know who's managing what unless the info comes from inside?

2 years in active unit as appointment holder is where you earn stripes, understudy is more like what it says to see if you can move up next. School posting is seen as distraction by most if not. This may not be true for all but has been expressed (off the record) by many regulars.
Pioneer Batch of Mamba coy (Dec 1985) OC was there only for first batch, was posted out asap back to staff command position as was on fast track. -

Not possible to be in E, G and J coy as they have just started their obese BMT (in fact, they are still in the confinement period)
As for D and F coy, I think that this 2 coys will be reserved for PES C recourses.....
I can tell you that A coy will be quite siong as they want to groom the recruits to be a commander, furthermore the annex (recreation) room seldoms open according to my friends there.
But I have heard that C coy is much slacker
Everynight annex room open one. B coy is also quite relax as they have their last parade at 1800hours compared to A coy in which they had their last parade as late as 2200hours (depends on the sergeant's mood) -
