Sign On: Worth It? Wise? Outside No Good Job Prospect? How?

i am colour deficient(red green), issit possible for me to sign on as an officer after i get my degree? issit better to complete OCS during NS and go for my degree course and come back to serve full time. OR, nv get into OCS during NS, but sign on as an officer and complete OCS after i get my degree. Any difference between the 2?

Get into OCS first. Then sign on.
Better still, finish OCS, be a 2LT, then see what EXACTLY you are getting yourself into and maybe rethink whether you wanna sign on

hmmm headache leh... i wanna sign on becos its not a totally desk job, and it pays well.. i wan something where i can move ard.. not stuck at the desk 9 to 5.. it seems tt gd paying jobs are all desk bound.. sigh.. is there any other forum for me to post such problems?

If you unable to get into OCS... who want to offer you as a officer? Got degree doesnt mean sure can be officer... take a good look on the street... one long que of degree holder out there...

Got degree, when sign on, will become officer. I think what he meant was that if not selected to go OCS during NS, when got degree they also wont allow u to sign on as an officer because they already gauge his potential during BMT. But IMO, case by case basis, and also who u know. SAF has this standard practice. RUBBLISH! Thats what a lots of degree holder are think during the economic crisis... if you are offer a career as an officer, you can only be confiirm upon comission as an officer, if you fail... FORGET IT! For those who did not make it to OCS and thereafter attain their degree after they ORD... Only certain officer vocation they may apply like Military Engineering Offficer or Logistic Officer etc... Of coz the relevancy of your degree will be take into consideration as well... definitely support the sispec > ocs route too.
anyway, if you are signing on for the sake of $, then please don't. You'll make your men's life and yours difficult.
But if you seriously feel that you have a passion for being an officer, then all the best. -
why not sign on as officer with the 4 years bond contact. that way u serve 2.5 year of your NSF and 1.5 year of regular. end of 4 year, get CPT rank, good money. sounds good to me.
but only certain vocation, certain formation offer this 4 year bond right? -

Aiya, peace time you want to be army officer for what. If you have this thing for the uniform, go for police force la, more realistic executive powers.
But beware my friend, uniform service is also quite political. You got to find the right mentor and belong to the right "family", or else you go down if your mentor go down.
