pay, allowance, salary, whatever. hahaha.Originally posted by kopiosatu:its allowance, not pay!!!
oic... rem to come back n update us ok?Originally posted by Ponders:Haven't heard any of the above moreover i am permstaff of bmtc.
Anyway, there is a CO conference this week, so they maybe announced then.
As for confinement, i think it is unlikely to be abolished. you might have mixed up the info in cases where there are public holidays during the confinement periods, for these cases, there will be no parent visiting day.
however, there have been many changes withing the INF formation, so many things are yet to be announced.
As for the pay thing, dunno who these rumour mongers are.... but seriously, many people have mixed up prorated pay + advanced pay thinking it's pay increase.
of course it is different.Originally posted by Ponders:pay, allowance, salary, whatever. hahaha.
dunno why ppl want to emphasize the difference.
its different in a legal context lah... but in casual talk.. dun think we should bother. haha.
anyway.. dun take it too hard lah.. just wondering why ppl from last time keep emphasizing the diff.
no lah, what i meant is that whenever one uses a misnomer (using the word "pay" instead of allowance), some other guy will come along and correct us.Originally posted by wuming78:of course it is different.
and the difference is crucial - it decides the amount one can and will get - and i guess that is, to you, what is most important.
hm... now even the confinement period is abolished. what rationale are they going to come up with? that its a obsolete practise? what has made it obsolete then? or has it always been unnecessary?Originally posted by Ponders:no lah, what i meant is that whenever one uses a misnomer (using the word "pay" instead of allowance), some other guy will come along and correct us.
What i am trying to mean is, in a casual context, we needn't be so particular about the wordings. haha.
anyway... to tetsumi..... THERE ARE talk about abolishing confinement period, but i should be some time before it could be confirmed. They are discussing whether it should only be BMTC recruits or all recruits.
tell them to faster abolish the confinement period...Originally posted by Ponders:no lah, what i meant is that whenever one uses a misnomer (using the word "pay" instead of allowance), some other guy will come along and correct us.

The original rationale for confinement was to get new enlistees used to a regimented way of life without the distractions of a civilian life.Originally posted by tetsumi:tell them to faster abolish the confinement period...
