Jus curious abt ur thinking la
During training in the forest @ nite, be it field camp or anithing.
Are you more afraid of
1) Snakes and etc
2) Ghost -
Mosquitoes and ants. Even ghosts and snakes hate em'.

i'm more afraid of no time to sleep more than anything else! hahaha -
at outfield if got time i sleep already...nvr think of so much...u will b v shack...

only worried about the swarm of mosquitos and ants that will affect my limited rest time. -

1. Rain. I'm serious.
2. Mosquitos. Hence, powder baths & insect-repellent application before sleeping.
3. The cold. You'll experience it even in Singapore, when out in the field. It usually hits at about 4 or 4:30 in the morning, when daily temperatures reach the lowest. You'll usually wake up needing to piss as well, given how your body's self-heating process creates a full bladder.
3. Scorpions. Snakes aren't a big problem, maybe in Brunei but then you're taught to spread sulpher around your sleeping-area circumference prior. But many soldiers like to remove boots & let their feet "breathe" at night when sleeping, & in turn scorpions like to climb into the footwear due to the warmth inside. Bites can & do occur locally, when disoriented or sleepy guys forget the checking drill when waking up for stand-to or night-guard, etc. -
hehe, remembered the time when it rained on the first night of field camp and it was so friggin cold. Somemore had to do guard duty at 4am. Could hardly get out of the basha with all those stiff bones.

No the forest/ jungle does not scare anyone at all. The first night out, you will go to sleep hearing strange noises from insects (mosquitos most common !!!) and the occassional animal rustling the dead leaves on the ground. You are mostly too tired to worry about wild animals/ ghosts/ whatever. Even if you have room in your mind to think about other things, you will mostly think of:-
1) What yr girlfriend is doing at this time in civvy life
2) whether your PC or PS or Sect Comdr will come around and steal something of yours to test your alertness
3) Guard/ sentry / OP duty shifts ... depending on the reason you are outfield... training or exercise/ mission.
Just bear in mind that it is cold in the early morning, when the temperature can dip to 22 deg. and the morning dew can wet your clothes. -

try bringing a portable radio or receiver during outfield...it makes my exercise abit more interesting...

i hope to stay as dry as possible.
worst is after rain/river crossing where we still need to cover several kilometres before reaching objective -

Ghost?only when u r alone doing sentry,but normally will not think coz tooo shack and only in mind is sleep....
if you feel cold until shaking(fa toh),go piss...after the piss,you will not feel the shaking(fa toh) liao... -
seriously there is nothing to be afraid of. but when the rain comes it can get really low morale, esp at night and esp when you dont have a proper shelter...

1) Kena chased by enemies. As if a price on your head isn't enough...
2) Leeches (The thought of it sends shivers down my spine)
3) The bloody coldness (I ever rode the scrambler at 50 km per hour in a blinding pre-dawn rain from Pasir Laba to Tekong. I reached there unable to move my fingers. They even turned slightly blue...) -
i'm more concern about whelter i hav enough to eat or not. somemore the combat ration taste worst than drain water, esp the duck rice.
