Most idiotic way of getting to DB

Ok... this isn't a dumb, but completely ironic.
When I was in Brunei, the senior medic there issued me with chemical ice-packs to bring along for outfield. I issued to packs to the section commanders and told them to take care of them. Being the garang soldiers we were, some of the ice-packs went missing. No joke, since each pack cost around $8.
The senior medic whacked me for one whole day. He raved and ranted about what a useless soldier I was, exclaimed that my parents brought me up wrongly, and - take note of this - that I had betrayed the trust of my country and should go to DB.
Obviously I was pretty sore at him.
Anyway, a few weeks later, I was doing medical centre duty back in Singapore. It was 7am in the morning. I was doing area cleaning when some bugger approached me from behind.
It was the senior medic from Brunei. His head was shaven bald. His face was grim.
It turns out that he was caught embezzeling funds allocated to his medical centre. No, this has nothing to do with the ice-packs. He diverted the funds for his own personal use. He was eventually ratted out and flown back to Singapore. He was at my medical centre for FFI for DB.
He spent a few months in DB. After which, he was demoted from 1SG to 3SG. That's my rank. Now I'm at the same level as him. I felt vindicated.
Bloody hypocrite..... He was the one who betrayed his country. I don't hate that poor-excuse-for-a-soldier, but I absolutely refuse to respect him. -
There was 1 case i heard of:
This unit's duty clerk and duty store man smashed the glas cabinet of a keypress, took a GP car key, drove the GP car out for supper, then came back to camp.
Needless to say they were caught, and charged with:
Burglary
wilful destruction
dereliction of duty
driving without a valid licence. -

Another one, suppose to drive mini van to send some letters but take damn long... later found out he half way fgo watch movie...haha -
this one very serious case DB...
my unit had a 3SG (NSF then regular, just sign-on) a sec comm in a battery
he was holding drugs in his bunk for who knows how long. then one fine day; CNB(Central Narcotics Bureau), 3 vans of MP + dog unit came to raid the enire unit. at first when we saw so many MPs, we got shock. then when we saw the dogs, even la-gi shock knowing this must be serious. everyone in battery had to stand-by bed including specs, officers (regardless of rank)
i was a storeman in HQ. they only check the A,B, C battery, did not check HQ (storeman, medics, drivers...).i guess they dont want to waste time cause they knew who they are after. apparently CNB were tracking him for almost a year and when they finally raided, they found packets of cannabis, estacy...
the junkie was very very foolish. maybe he thought the most dangerous place is the safest place. i think if he kept it at home inside some biscuit tin even safer than in camp loh.
drugs in sg = foolish
drugs in SAF ?!? = [ foolish + stupid + idiot + bo tao nao(aka no brain) ] x 100
he was charged both by military and civil law
he had to first serve 2yrs DB, followed by 4yrs civil prison
only consolation is he lucky that his drugs not enough to get death sentence (ie. hang) -
Actually know of this incident happen b4 all the cookhouse goes commercialized the MT SGT(regular) took all the cooking oil home but was caught by CO becos he used the GP car to send it home. Was court martial and put in DB......come out got contract terminated that's a loser

Anyway back to topic -> i know of one who went to DB for stealing petrol from motorcycles.
Also for asking a fellow soldier to "suck my (not MINE, his fren's) cock" and for poking that soldier's ass-hole with a pencil.
Another one is for gg AWOL for more than 6 months (i think). His reason: G/f wanna dump him and he dunno what to do. So he decided to camp at the beach. And not report back.
Another case, not exactly stupid -more like unlucky, this reservist ignored letters telling him to go for ippt and went overseas. Handcuffed at airport upon return. Damn Sad. 30+ years old still have to shave botak and be subjected to some pimply-faced Cpl's command.
Seriously, the dumb (and unlucky) people that are in the army. -

they scare the detainees will get too strong and attack the MPs there.
from what i heard, those detainees will secretly train themself. when the MPs or security camera isn't looking at them, they will do push ups in their cells. they'll even time how long the camera will turn to their cell.

on of my former unit got a 3SG regular who awoled back in the early 90s, got caught n sent to DB, demoted to PTE, and every time come out he will AWOL again. then in 95 he came out from DB, AWOLed again, and has never been seen since.Originally posted by Patrik:Most stupid wld be to go AWOL bah...
