most of the wing comds are retiring after their stints as Wing Comd in OCSOriginally posted by LazerLordz:When they let the BG take his son out of camp, all that happened , happened as a matter of deference to rank.By right, the BG has no direct command over his son, as OCS has a Commander and above him, there is Commandant SAFTI.But hey, who can blame the Major or LTC who just wants to defer to the BG, because going against a superior might be detrimental to his future career prospects?
Sucks but that's how the SAF is..
Yup, technically it was AWOL cos his son was not under his chain of command. I'm not sure but i don't think the Wing Comd was present at that moment. Rather than block the BG and risk an ugly confrontation with someone who outranks even the Commander OCS, i guess most Wing Comds would probably just salute and write an off-pass on the spot, lending some legitimacy to the 'book-out'.Originally posted by LazerLordz:When they let the BG take his son out of camp, all that happened , happened as a matter of deference to rank.By right, the BG has no direct command over his son, as OCS has a Commander and above him, there is Commandant SAFTI.But hey, who can blame the Major or LTC who just wants to defer to the BG, because going against a superior might be detrimental to his future career prospects?

My friend is an instructor in platoon 2 hahaha, had an interesting encounter with Calvin.........Originally posted by Alexander_Jude:I just POP last week...my company Raven...well, one of the guy's father is a SWO...not kidding you guys...the recruit's name is Calvin from platoon 2 in RavenApparently he says his father is an RSM...and when we asked who he reports to...he said his father reports only to the Chief of Army...
And my platoon had a guy whose father is the boss of the company who manufacture the SAF arms...his family friends are all the people who have "stars"...
Those guys...well they took the speedboat back home right after POP...sigh...and everyone else had to queue...
might as well hire women there to feed them with grapes.. -_-Originally posted by Alexander_Jude:Oh yea there was white horse treatment...apparently they got stuff like ice creams during live range...and the specs even took the pains to "ventilate
the stuffy air for them by MANUALLY fanning them with pieces of large cardboard...mind you...it was a 2nd SGT as well...
I think the little poor "clotheline hanger" probably regretted saying so much now. haha.. Really, what amazed me was how he tried to justify himself of all these treatment as "normal". Its not your fault that you are posted to Hawk coy, and its not your fault if the instructors give you special treatment. Maybe if you feel bad abt receiving all these special treatment, we might even sympathize with you. But hey, to say that you deserve all these, man you are totally out.Originally posted by LazerLordz:Damn right. It does not matter how much money your father earns or even if you are liberal in thinking. It's about having the maturity of thought to understand how certain things are done in certain situations.
Me?I don't know who this Joie guy is, but his behaviour is clearly appalling. And if he displays such attitudes in work or study, and still get away with it, then I just have to point out that the more you run away, the less likely you will notice the wall in front of you.And when you run smack into it, you will not have the honed experience to tell you how to climb over it.
Not all things in life are soft, comfy and sweet. You need some of the pain and suffering to cherish what soft, comfy and sweet things are.
Just my thoughts.
