Loving NS and loving your nation are two mutually exclusive ideas.Ppl hate NS because of its system.To feel disgusted at such people is to fall into the trap of the MIW.If you had a choice, many of you so-called patriots will not serve.It's after you have served that you feel that the time you have wasted better be for something good.I respect those who hate the goddamn system here and will migrate, at least they have the guts to find their own place under the sun.No one owes a country or a government anything, she has to earn the respect and love of her citizens.I am not born into this world to be a slave, rather if i serve, I do so knowing that I might have played a part.If i deride the serving, it is because I know there are other ways that still show that I love my land.If I hate my land, please thank God, because at least I know I still have free will in me.

To be frank, I was a passive resistance during my first year in NS, I 'go-slow' in everything, question every order, basically being unco-operative cos I think it's a waste of time... Then one day I realise I'm not making any point, instead i'm saboing the poor innocent guy who has to clear the shit that I refused to do...

Many times, I thinking of AWOL... but that will disappoint my parents, something I can never do... I HATE THE COUNTRY and dun worry guys, MY ONLY WISH is to LEAVE the country.. JUST THAT I do not have the time yet.. and IT IS NOT THE COUNTRY WHO FEED ME... my parents are the one who brought me up... I will never desert them... they work so hard to bring me up.. That time when I was still a chao PTE,I absolutely hated the whole xxx NS system when I was activated for guard duty on a nice Sunday morning,because some xxxx wanted to chao keng and took MC.
I had plans to go out with my potential girlfriend that day,mind you...The feeling of going back to camp on a Sunday morning when you are not supposed to,utterly sucked big time,period....
ANother time when I hated NS is when the RSM always pulled rank on the men,every sentence in appalling English need to have the phrase "I charge you". I felt utterly disgusted that we,as fellow human beings,had to live in fear all the time of a typical Uncle at the Singapore Pools betting outlet...
Quite often,we had to do funny bo liao things for funny bo liao people.
Things became slightly better when I got promoted,though.
Overall my NS experience was still fine.
