Strange/funny Tekan

Hi all,
Anybody got interesting one to share?
I start the ball rolling.
During my BMT at Nee Soon, we were given 10 mins to bath and fall in for last parade. 3 of my platoon mate, seeing how pack the toilet is went to bath in another's company bathroom.
They were caught by our PC. During last parade, they have to march around the parade square, holding hands together and shout "We like to bath together!" over and over again.. -
LOL that was funny.
ok here's mine. during my BMT, my bunk mate was punished to do 20 push ups by by sec comm.
sec comm: "Knock it down 20!"
bunk mate: "Yes sergeant!"
sec comm: "Start from -20."
bunk mate: " -20, -19, 18..."
20 push ups later...
bunk mate: "... -3, -2, -1, 0. permission to recover sergeant!"
sec comm: "How many push ups did u do?"
bunk mate: "er... 0 sergeant!" -
how about the "Help help, the wall is falling" punisment?

Mine was the "training-shed pillar is falling" punishment for those post-lunch sleepyheads during lesson time. -
mine was "help help, the chin up bar is falling"
it's was funny cos some of us will say it sarcastically. -

haha. in my time, seldom got this type of punisment anymore. -

The day raining then we having training under the rain. Then this senior came and ask we want to be wet or hot. We say wet and he asked us to roll on the floor. After that, he asked us to face the floor and kissed it. Then he asked the same question again and we still don't want to run, so after roll again. -

1. Defense exercise during ocs days ...
Incident one: Funny - Two chaps running around the objective in underwear with rifle overhead. took place at dawn during stand 2, what a sight. They were caught changing outside their trench, smart move.
Incident two: Quite funny (looking back) - 1 hour of jumping jacks at 2am, not joking.
2. Combat survival course (1995 batch): NOT FUNNY at all - POW treatment, water hose up my nose and inside mouth, kneel for hours, iguana crawl* and best of all, kneeling with a piece of wood stuck btw thigh and calf while sadist holding (pushing) your shoulders down, pure pain
* Iguana crawl - crawl on belly and shoulder blade (hands tied behind the back holding the foot). Improvised version, same as standard version except with wood stuck btw thigh and calf. -

Did i mention they were wearing helmet and in boots too. Not so funny for them cos they ran till day break haha

Change parade has to be the absolute craziest. It was already banned during my time, but legends abound on how creative the tekaning could be - since that's precisely the end in itself. Now we could only get a glimpse of it in those Taiwanese "Reporting, Sir" film comedies ~lol~
The swimming instructors during my Tekong days were very inventive too - lucky for me cuz I couldn't swim then. It was, like, 45 minutes of exhausting circuit training & 10 minutes's actual swimming for those who would have no problem passing the test. Not so much super-siong but all the complementary humiliation left the trainee disoriented: "Recruit, you so blur you must've pa chiao with your left hand instead of your right, yah?" "Yes, Instructor!"
Those by PTI's & during range butt-parties came with the territory, I guess.
The most sadistic has to be the UC instructors, though. Them buggers never hazed or shouted at you; they just conduct their training under the blazing sun (meaning your palms get burnt on the hot asphalt), or subject you to knuckle pushups (to beget the "required" calluses), or stretch you into very-painful postures during warm-up sessions. Even the officers cannot escape; it was the only occasion when I witnessed my CO involuntarily plead for mercy. -

Aiyo when was ur time? Still rem during soc at BMTC, PTI shouted "go n touch e low wall/ tree/ etc n cme back" than "too slow, go n touch it again n cme back" N e whole company would run touch n cme back. Usually when e recs ran to touch that something e specs would just stand one corner n watched. But suay suay that day our OC cme to e soc ground. He fu*ked all e specs upside dwn, saying u all hve to follow e recs whenever they go. So lan lan, when we all went to touch e tree/ low wall, e specs hve to run w us too. N oso e change parade, even though my time already banned liao, but we oso kana. If no ban, think will kana even more often. We were in e bunk in smart 4 waiting to take e ferry to book out. Than suddenly e officer told us to change to ptkit than fall in downstairs, after fall in liao, told us to go up to bunk change to smart 4 again n fall in downstairs. Bo bian wana book out, everything must do nice nice for him.
4 knock it dwn, e worst part is knock it dwn with ur full pack. just imagine e weight pressing dwn on ur back when u go dwn n up. -
During field camp as a Rec, one of e platoon was following instructions too slowly for powder bath. So that whole platoon was being knock it dwn + crunches with only their underwear on. It was really funny, u could c all colours of underwears w hairs sticking out at both sides n e bodies/ faces full of white powder carrying out their punishment.

During my recruits days,we have to take out our boots to do pushups so our feet will feel hot as well even if we wear socks..footdrill wearing socks only..A bit funni cos there is no sound when u bang the feets!

Talking about change parade...........during my BMT, my fellow BMT mates kena........
From Bunk (4th floor) run to Lecture room(2nd floor) at the blow of the whistle.............knock it down and do countless push ups..........in push up position, count the number of window panes and do the same number again................in smart 4, roll down to long 4, in push up position, roll back to Smart 4........redo many times....
1 mintue to change to pt kit..........run up and down.........All this because the never button up properly during parade....
Lasted 2 hours.......next morning, hand shakes while holding spoons.....
Another 1 that my platoon kena was during the 1st route march, 4km, OC asked our platoon to sing songs.........too tired....sang half way....no sound liao....came back camp, whole platoon kena left right centre up down by the PC/PS/Sergeants...........
FBO do push ups........change to sit up.......then push up..........1 minute to gather 5 full packs each.......everyone rushed like mad to other platoon to lend full packs.............came back kena knocked it down again..........another minute to return...........came back knock it down again...........
Next route march, our platoon gilat gilat sing until the voice coarse.......
Most jia lat one........standby bed at company line..........bed, cupboards carried from 4th floor down to company line......... -
Oh yeah.......another funny one..........
During form up for parade, forgot to take off watch, kena caught by PS......
At night, ordered me to bring 20 watches to see him.....
Think die liao.....sure kena jialat jialat......
Then he asked me to fall in the watches........Sedia the watches.......
Ke-kana-buseng....the watches...........Ke-kiri-buseng the watches....
Japat jalan the watches.......after that dismisses me.......
Heng ah...........

The "the tree" punishment originated from bayonet fighting, rather than by PTI's or whatever. Theoretically, such combat skills are applicable only in a personal dogfight in wartime, so soldiers "must" be tekaned until complete exhaustion before conducting rote training.

Underwear, crunches, knock it down, etc. Just imagine e mud, ants etc crawling/toucing all over ur 95% (5% underwear) naked body.
Other tekan like e whole company rifles pile into 1 big pile n go n find ur rifle number. U cannot any hw take 1 cse they would check. Of coz cannot find lah, 120+ rifles lei in 3 mins. Than redo, tis time we stack it nicely, but oso cannot complete in time. Than in e end tekan very chia lat crucnches, knock it dwn, etc loh, hundreads of time. All becse they found an unopened combat ration in e dustbin n no one wanted to admit it.
We were oso e only company that brought along our field pack to shelter during CAT 1. Other companies just kept theirs in e bashar. N e worst part, our field camp was in DEC, e raining season. Everday a lot of CAT 1 smetimes in e middle of e nite, had to wake up, walked in e rain/ lighting/ thunder in full battle order to shelter. N we were not allowed to wear our ponchos. Our ponchos in our sbo that we wore along r 4 pai sui only. Cat 1 status came out so long ago liao, always when began to rain than proceed to shelter. E lightings n thunders r right on top of my head. Never heard e thunder so loud n lighting so bright in my life b4. E spec oso gt scared, quickly bend e metal rod that was attached to e radio set he was carrying on his back.
At e end of sit test, e tonners came n wated to bring us back. But e OC just told them to go back empty. E whole company had to march back in full battle order - 8km lei. E specs r all not prepared for it. As it was getting dark there were no reflective vest, troop marching signages, neon light sticks etc., but they still called us to march. Half way during e march, i saw a landrover sped passed us, when we were about a quarter to BMTC it cme back w e reflective vests, signages, neon sticks. Wts e use, we were about to reach liao. Or izzit because BMTC gt a lot of other plp, so must waiyang that they had all e safety devices w them.
Still gt a lot more, lazy to type all out.
Our OC like a gangster, stand on e land rover bonnet shouting. Always look at recs sideways nt directly. -
All these post brings back some very familiar thoughts..
Look back can laugh, at that point in time....
