What do u think of the new SAF Meal boxes and carrier bag?

Our soldiers now no longer have their outfield meals packed in squat styrofoam boxes in styrofoam containers. HQ Supply & Transport (HQ S&T) has been phasing in new paper meal boxes and meal box carrier bags, with all camps SAF-wide now using the new items.
In terms of both design and material, the new meal boxes and carrier bags offer significant improvements. The “cover-over-base” design and the material of the box are able to retain heat better and help to prevent contamination of the food. The box is also stronger with the 3-ply reinforced corner, and being made out of recycled, biodegradable foodgrade paper, is also more environmentally-friendly.
The carrier bag is lined with five layers of insulating material like aluminium foil and foam to provide the same benefits, and has two carrying slings for convenient movement. Overall, handling and transportation is now much improved. Both the box and bag are also lighter.
Head Materials Branch, HQ S&T, LTC Sebastian Tan said, “Training areas can be quite far from the cookhouse. It may take one or two hours to deliver the food to the soldiers. As part of our effort to provide good food for our servicemen, we are proud to introduce the new paper meal boxes, which can keep food warmer for a significantly longer period of time.”
Soldiers gave their thumbs-up to the new meal boxes. CPL Wilson Tan said, “The new meal box is definitely more sturdy, and the food comes to us warm and fresh. I’m glad the SAF is implementing such improvements for our welfare.” -

don't believe what they say, always ask those who have tried it aka the poor soldiers. everything rolled out is good, must always ask those end-users one..."No Analysis Talk Only" is no use one.

the new boxes are smaller then the old styrofoam ones. meaning we get to eat less. only good thing is it's rectanglar shape, easiler to pack.

I believe someone probable got a pat on the shoulder and a promotion for this. Whether it really works is another matter. If they really want it to be bio friendly and keep in the freshness, should give every soldier a Tuperware box. Can give whole set also. I think Carrefour sell less then 10 bucks

imagine a 50 litre container containing 1/2 water
imagine a 20 litre container containing full water
1st one looks like u got cheated
2nd one looks like u got a gd deal...
but in the end u lost 5 litre....get it ? -
i like the new green carrier bag very much. got handle so easiler to carry. somemore easiler to wash also as compare to the old big styrofoam box.

on paper everything can be ideal and nice, correction...i mean everything will be ideal and nice....whether it works anot is another thing which is outside the scope, main thing is, the paperwork must be done good so it seems to be feasible and such. by the time it is found not to work, the original inventor already confirmed his position liao. confirmation to post is what matters when someone is under probation upon joining a company, am i not right ? -

hmm the lunch boxes are sturdy and the carrier bags are gd stuff..
my coy had to play OPFOR for my sister Bn , after the Dawn attack, its common to transit into a quick attack to force the red force further back.as the unit was transitting, we were collecting back the defence store getting ready to move to next objectives, ard noon. my plt was pretty far off the MDA, as my platoon had to simulate a combat outpost ...*sigh* ..so when my troops deployed there, suay suay , my sister Bn being soo garang already moving up ...so no choice had to KIV the lunch in the bags still and harras them doing retrograde..haha boy it was fun ..by the time the coy took my position ard 3pm, told my men to settle down for lunch ( first meal since 2nd day as we had to conduct ambush and fighting patrols against the blue force)
the food was still piping hot and the box never leaked..the boxes are lined with the same plastic found in your those brown hawker centre sheets used for take aways...

Hey guys,
when you have been away from Singapore these many years like me, even the picture of the food at the start of this thread looks yummy. Doesn't matter if it is cold or hot, which incidentally, I don't think is such a issue when you are eating lunch on some bare top hill in the midday sun ! -
Heh.But the main thing is that the food must taste good.
