it's quite naive to think that someone with only o levels cert can expect to cliimb as fast as, or even 1/2 as fast as someone else with degree/diploma qualification.
Anyway I'm strongly for mantaining a high degree/diploma officer/spec ratio to men. You can't run the army based on leadership alone; the army isn't a triad. though some would argue otherwise for the case of adf. -
Just for your info, 3SG Alan Phua has gone to the AHM already..anyway what has the AHM got to do with the 22km run? As you said, its lip service. With the COA there, what do you say? Lip Service. Probably about the most useful thing to take out of SISPEC.
Not to diss SISPEC; I learnt quite a bit of things, toyed with more and enjoyed most of it. But it's the damn silly things and 'significant' nonsense that I think is an awful waste of time.

Just curious, what route does an ADA specialist take? What happens to them after BSLC?

anyway, after your bslc, u will be posted to air force school, in short AFS. This is where you will spent another 9 weeks of training on your specialised weapon, it depend on the intake as well. If you are a regular, aim for the I-hawk, better career ...but i don't think u can choose that.
so after 9 weeks of specialised weapon training (i-hawk, 35mm AA, Mistral, RBS), the regulars will embarked another OJT technical training where they are being trained by the senior techs. Once you pass the course, then u will be posted as a detachment specialist (section leader) and usually, the best performance will be chosen as Flight Sergeant Major.
if you are a NSF, then after the 9 weeks of training, you will also be taught some light OJT training too. then service your weapon on a weekly basis and play some war game (wait and shoot game) and till u ORD loh -
For ADA you'll be posted to AFS. Enjoy one week of holiday orientation and suffer as the worst of all life form there. If you think the basic phrase is tough... wait till you see the advance. Haha. Depend where you posted to if you posted to Tengah, the place sucks but life is good. If you posted to chongpang... the other way round haha. -
i'm posted to airforce sch as a ADWS after my bslc and currently enjoying the 1 week AOP...
juz found out that i will be trained to operate the I-Hawk..
Question here... when i pass out and posted to unit, do i have men under me?? or the spec will become the men and command by the officer??

SISPEC has two squares. A proper Parade Square with seating for spectators and what they call Chevrons Square, which is the square with the chevron design. Personally I think it's a shame they didn't make the chevron design more prominent at Chevrons Square. The square is tiled using the common red concrete tiles seen at parade squares and public parks all over Singapore. The chevron design is simply created by using common blue-gray concrete tiles... because of this most don't even notice the design. -
aft BSLC will go ASLC or unit right?? how to get to a more relax unit?? any special ways to get to relax unit or jus avoid ASLC...

yes... u can still enter sispec... in fact, if u performed well enough, u might even go ocs.. I have 1 platoonmate in sispec who is pes bp, but he went on and got company best and crossover to ocs..Originally posted by pudgee:any chances for me to get into SISPEC if i'm in pes BP? -
Is SOC a passing criteria for bslc ?
