Just POP-ed from 42th BSLC.
Heard the rumour that BSLC will be shortened and ASLC lengthened will be in effect soon. possibly the next batch. -

Wow I am from the 3rd or 4th BSLC course. Seems like yesterday only but it happened about 10 years ago.

i got questions about the exercises in Tekong.
do you come back to camp every night? or do u camp there?
because if Tekong exercises you camp outfield, then that would make a 3-weeks-in-a-row field camps for my company's schedule.. -

If i am not wrong, only Grandslam in Tekong ba ...
the whole place behind Pasir Laba is military area, quite stupid not to utilise the area ba ... -

Exercise Grandslam lar, ie, nice name for another fieldcamp,
anyway, if i am not wrong, ur training program would list the venue for the repectively events, cos i did rmb seeing that Grandslam is held in tekong, not very sure for the rest of the outfield exercises ... -

Hello all,
I trained in SISPEC a really long time ago - in 1996, and it was in Pasir Labar Camp, quite run-down already. And I recently bumped into a 3SG at the recent SAF Open House at Ngee Ann City. He said SISPEC has moved back from Tekong. Seems to be jumping all over the place.
Anyway, anyone there now can tell me if everything has been renovated? I plan to go to PLC to take a look at the Open House in Sept - wonder whether the old bunks will still be there?
Those days... we graduated as CPL, and the instructors were quite crazy... -
I guess, the only old buildings in SISPEC are the ASTW, A, B, C Coys. D to M COys (K,L, M are still empty) seem new ... Take a look around ba. SISPEC is now in PLC, there is now a Leaders Heritage Trail n Heritage Centre ... to 'glorify' the role of specialists ... n the Sgt Rocky statue which i have no idea about ...

Hey guys, I'm still in BMT, gonna POP soon. I have a question to ask: after your BSLC, do you get to express interest in where you want to get posted to? Or will they just randomly post you to any unit?

U can tell ur commanders where u interested in ... But whether they recommend it or not, is one thing.
