ARMAMENT
What if the infantryman's rifle misfires in the heat of the battle? What are the consequences of a tank's turret gun systems malfunction during an attack?
Why do these incidents occur?
Join the Army as an Armament Engineering Specialist, and you'll help find out, and prevent them from happening again.
You'll keep abreast of the latest development in armament science. You'll monitor field reports, test results, and see that all our weapons function at their peak. If technical problems arise, you're expected to quickly find a solution.
You role is crucial because you make sure the Army's guns, both big and small, work as designed. After all, what would an Army be if it didn't have guns?
AMMUNITION
Ammunition provides our combat forces with the firepower to defend our interests. Therefore, our Army attaches great importance to its management.
This makes you an integral player in the Army.
As an Ammunition Engineering Specialist, you'll handle all kinds of ammunition and explosives, from tiny 9mm bullets to massive 155mm Howitzer rounds. You'll also act as a technical advisor on all ammunition surveillance, maintenance and safety matters.
All the guns in the world aren't enough if they have no bullets to fire. And your specialised knowledge of ammunition and explosives makes sure that we have the means to back us up.
AUTOMOTIVE
Modern military vehicles are perfect examples of increasingly complex and sophisticated systems.
As an Automotive Engineering Specialist, you'll be the master of some of the biggest and most powerful vehicles on wheels! Be it an all-terrain tank, a versatile land rover or a speedy motorcycle, you'll keep them in peak running condition.
As military vehicles are so important in our modern Army, by maintaining them in top-running condition, you give the rest of the Army the power to move smoothly and quickly to our targets.
There are 3 types of Automotive Specialists:
Class A - Armoured Vehicles (eg. Bionix)
Class B - Wheeled vehicles like 5-tonners, land rovers.
Class C - Heavy equipment like bulldozers, bridging equipment.
You will perform tasks from maintenance, quality servicing and inspections to higher level of engine repair, gearboxes and vehicle overhauling. You will also provide field support and repairs alongside the troops.
As an Automotive Specialist, you may also be groomed to be Workshop IC, Platoon Sergeant, Company Sergeant Major (CSM) and other staff roles like Maintenance Management Warrant Officer or Project Warrant Officer.
