OK , i heard that singapore F-16 D version is 2 seater and equipped with SEAD (suppression of enemy air defenses) and single engined..
another 1 F-16 is single seater...
What the key differences between single and double seater?
any rsaf person care to explain?
Which 1 does the job better?
What are the roles of 2 pple inside? Double or single seater more expensive?
I heard 1 person do the flying another person do the firing..How true is that?

Why RSAF goes for single engine plane with F-5,A-4 and F-16??

No lar... for F-16 2 seater is for training only.
2 seaters like F-15E are different, where there's a WSO seating behind for targetting.
2 engines more survivable than 1 engine becoz if one engine die ur other engine can still keep u airbourne. However, 2 engines also mean ur airframe body needs to be bigger. F-16 is one of the BEST in air vs air dogfight, there's no doubt about it.
You're rite that RSAF so far have all the small single engine fighters, but they are already getting some european fighter now. -

Double DOES NOT mean it is for training... It is for the WSO, pilot just drive the plane... TA-4 and F-5T DD seater is for training

Depends on weapon as well... F-5 has AIM-9... A-4SU has AIM-9 and AGM-65... RSAF has already taken delivery of 100 AIM-120C AMRAAMS plus placed another order for 50 AIM-120C5.
RMAF bought AIM-9S sidewinders as well as AIM-7M BVR AAMs in ther F/A-18D hornets package though they have been tasked for ground attack and anti-shipping(harpoon ASMs). RMAF ordered only 8 hornets. They had intended to supplement these with F/A-18C though the Asian financial crisis spoiled their plans. -

The new naval chopper will do the ASW work.It has been all along lah... Maybe against the communist rebels
Many reasons...probably so that the planes would not be destroyed in an artillery strike at such short range.
RSAF planes mounting an air-strike have to travel all the way up there- more reaction time plus more chance of facing anti-aircraft fire though RSAF could travel through South China Sea. -

1. What are they used for?
2. What do they do in times of wartime?
3. Why LKY use them?
4. Are they the last line of defense?
5. Who is their "true loyalty"?
