i understand exactly how StRiKeMaN feels like. sometimes one might has doubts about himself whether he is up to the job as a good commander. the way he handle his men: am i guiding them in the correct way? am i giving them enough welfare? have i been too fierce to them or am i too soft to them they won't listen to me? am i a f*ck-up commander to them?Originally posted by wuming78:you mentioned you were afraid you could not cope with the job, even though it is something you have been aspiring to. why is that so?
Thanx for Advise of Wat u hav Wrote abt me. I'll Try me Best To Be Confident.Originally posted by Gordonator:i understand exactly how StRiKeMaN feels like. sometimes one might has doubts about himself whether he is up to the job as a good commander. the way he handle his men: am i guiding them in the correct way? am i giving them enough welfare? have i been too fierce to them or am i too soft to them they won't listen to me? am i a f*ck-up commander to them?
and also the tasks giving by superiors: i need to get my men to reach this standard as required. be it all get IPPT silver, all pass SOC, train them to be top-notch in foot/rifle drills. can my men do it, will i be able to train them to do it?
SAF is a human orientated working environment. it's all about human relationship apart from your professional skills. so as a commander one must be able to influence, inspire, guide and motivate his men.
but hey, we all learn from mistakes and setbacks right? afterall, failure is the mother of all sucess. that's why we must be confident about ourselves, learn from our mistakes. rome isn't built in a day. with time and practise, i believe one with surely be able to cope with the any job. good luck. follow your dreams.
u in which unit?Originally posted by casshern:do think twice about signing on,u must be really into the millitary to really enjoy your job.upon deciding that you really want to join the SAF be it the navy, army or air force,u must decide on the vocation that you want to join next.i'm an SAF regular specialist and i'm proud to be one.i enjoy every moment of it.
piece of advice though,it's no easy job and one must be discipline and the SAF is no longer and iron rice bowl.
i yet to regret my decision and i'm earning good money compared to my peers who are still taking pocket money from their parents.pretty cool to have your very first car at the age of 21![]()
you can always go for LSA or ATAOriginally posted by blunt_knife:Thinking of signing on, but i wanna pursue my degree. So how to sign on ah? Can sign on, and still study at the same time?
Or do i have to serve my n.s. first, go study, then come back and sign on?
Cos the Uni i wanna go to is in Aussie.
Btw, i have a diploma.
But need good Diploma results, and my results are only average. Moreover, think it's a MUST to be an officer, what if i don't qualify.Originally posted by wuming78:you can always go for LSA or ATA
if you are earmarked for LSa, MTA or ATA... you are already earmarked for OCSOriginally posted by blunt_knife:But need good Diploma results, and my results are only average. Moreover, think it's a MUST to be an officer, what if i don't qualify.
Couldn't find any info on ATA though..
it depends on whether the injury affects your pes status. if you get permanently downgraded for it, then im afraid not. but if not, then you have the chance to.Originally posted by jerry82:ham string can sign on?
i can run & squat with out painOriginally posted by wuming78:it depends on whether the injury affects your pes status. if you get permanently downgraded for it, then im afraid not. but if not, then you have the chance to.
you should see a doctor, or even a specialist, regarding your condition. but from what i understand, unless you tore your muscle, a stretched hamstring is not a permanent condition, and you should be able to recover in time. you should avoid over-exerting it in the meantime, while keeping to mild stretching regimes. in any case, there is no sit and reach in IPPT. but i think standing broad jump would require hamstring exertion too.Originally posted by jerry82:i can run & squat with out pain
only doing sit & reach thing it cost pain
how long it take to recover?
