Aiyah... got enlisment letter a bit too late now lah... You should have volunteered for Commandos when you did your medical checkup... That's what my friend's brother did and he went on to become a Cdo PC even though his spectacles degree is about 400...Originally posted by Sagara:but if i sign on and but fail to get into these vocations, does it mean i'm stuck ?
hai.. looking ard in police webbies and forum... no appealing career...except STAR and CID.. but to me it seems that not having a degree would be a major disadvantage in a SPF career..
was looking forward to army/rsaf career![]()
you will know what you are offered before you sign the contract. so if you dont like what you get you can always turn it down. btw why the attraction to those vocations in particular? what abt the rest, say, inf?Originally posted by Sagara:but if i sign on and but fail to get into these vocations, does it mean i'm stuck ?

i am too..Originally posted by kopiosatu:personally, i would be very very very very very very very disappointed if i got to serve NS with the SCDF or SPF...
personal preference.![]()
contract? that's as with working with any other company. you will sign a contract, with certain terms and conditions, and in return, you get certain renumeration, and benefits. nothing out of the ordinary. there may be a minimum term of engagement though.Originally posted by Sagara:can elaborate on the contract thingy..?
i think i'm interested in these vocations cuz they're the elite of the forces..
not that i think i'm damn pro or wad but given a chance i will give it my best shot![]()
probably wont sign on if i dun into the elite forces...Originally posted by wuming78:so i guess for you its the best or nothing? if you cant get into the elite fraternity that's it, and you won't go for the other arms?
You should be glad that u dont have to cross to the other islandOriginally posted by mr_sotong:i was wondering.... is SAF pervert? sending new PES A enlistee to report to a camp that is super far from his home....
hmmm....a POs job is not as simple as u think. but prepare to be brainwashed and u won't see the city like u did b4 u went in. You will develope Predator's vision mode in order to sniff out different kind of people and stuff....hahahaha. A selected few will return to PA a week after their POP/POC, while the others get posted out to divisions etc, so as to continue 'further' studies aka 'deep brainwashing'. after the 6 mth training (5+1 extra), u will be thoroughly brainwashed like me...hahahaha.Originally posted by Sagara:i dun see myself being lucky doing NS with police too..
in fact, i'm damn pissed now![]()
why PES A 6/6 eyesight go police NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

But you can always call CMPB and try now... The biggest regret will be having to live with the regret of not trying... If not, dun worry you still can sign on in the army after NS... And dun worry, Cdo is not exactly super-elite... they're so short of ppl they'll take in ppl with 400 degree specs! If you dun give up, sure can make it one...
Fate is at least fairer to you then me... All my hopes for any Spec Ops career were dashed when I had to wear glasses as young as 6 and went for eye op at 9... think it's hereditary or what... All my family members wear glasses...![]()
