that is the combat allowance. havent heard that it differs between arms though.Originally posted by chikopek:My Tekong OO did said before that for combatants u will get more than those non combatants
For commandos u will get $300 more while guards will get $200 more as for infantry and other combat units u will get $100 more
like that a NSF commando 2SG or guards 2SG is getting more monthly allowance than a NSF non commando/guards 2LT loh.Originally posted by chikopek:For commandos u will get $300 more while guards will get $200 more as for infantry and other combat units u will get $100 more

for NSF Guardsman, the basic allownace is the same as anyone else. except they're getting $200 more for combat allowanceOriginally posted by Icemoon:Zhun bo? Guardsmen same allowance meh? So their beret, guards tab and heli-rapelling skills are not worth a damn ah?
off topicOriginally posted by pika1987:wah.... but i tink hor, wearing the khaki beret with the backing behind the cap badge and guards tab around very 'wu sei' leh.... walk also got wind one...
I've lost touch with the allowance system now, after they revamped it.Originally posted by Gordonator:for NSF Guardsman, the basic allownace is the same as anyone else. except they're getting $200 more for combat allowance
My Tekong OO told me that other than commandos ($300 more) and guards ($200 more), other combat arms like infantry, armour, combat engineers etc gets $100 more.Originally posted by Icemoon:I've lost touch with the allowance system now, after they revamped it.
If Guardsmen get $200 more, so Infantrymen get $100 more? And what about Armour and other formations?
do you mean to say:Originally posted by Gordonator:for NSF Guardsman, the basic allownace is the same as anyone else. except they're getting $200 more for combat allowance
I don't think Guards are used to take over an objective with superior numbers, but are used as vanguards to pave the way for the armour and other main forces to roll in and deal with objectives with superior numbers.Originally posted by sidestep1984:in a war...
Guards are used to provide first strike capabilities for the SAF..
they need infantry too to take over an objective too with superior numbers...
Infantry use their mass too.....and need guards for backup too in case the line is breached...
so it is a tit for tat kind of relationship.....
So the full allowance is rank pay + combat allowance ($100, $200 or $300)?Originally posted by chikopek:My Tekong OO told me that other than commandos ($300 more) and guards ($200 more), other combat arms like infantry, armour, combat engineers etc gets $100 more.|
that was what he meant.Originally posted by Icemoon:I don't think Guards are used to take over an objective with superior numbers, :
for NSFs, that may well be the case.Originally posted by Icemoon:Cannot be mah .. so you mean the infantry CPL same pay as the combat engineer CPL?
i think tats wat i said...they need infantry to take over an objective in the end...Originally posted by Icemoon:I don't think Guards are used to take over an objective with superior numbers, but are used as vanguards to pave the way for the armour and other main forces to roll in and deal with objectives with superior numbers.![]()
SAF (and militaries around the world) is adopting the COMBINED ARMS concepts of operations for good reasons. no single arm can survive and win a war on its own.Originally posted by sidestep1984:i think tats wat i said...they need infantry to take over an objective in the end...
i was just stating why both needs both ...thats all...
dunno why everyone talks abt guardsmen so much and looks at infantry as the sore older brother..
