2 examples why both coexist for each other and to other units as well......Originally posted by Icemoon:That was not what I understand. I mean they do not have the same objective. Guards neutralise the enemy for the armour and main force to punch through. The Guards commander won't say "shit, how come so many soldiers at our objective. Call in infantry reinforcement".
it's very easy. let say now i'm a CPL, my basic allowance is $450.Originally posted by wuming78:do you mean to say:
1. NSF guardsman receives $200 more in combat allowance compared to infantryman?
OR
2. only NSF guardsman receives combat allowance, which is $200?
anyway if it is 1, then how much more does an NSF commando receive?
and able to validate your statement? what is your source? cos from what i know there are no differences. i may be wrong.
for your info, combat enginners is not a combat unit, they are a support unit. they won't be getting combat pay like infantry.Originally posted by Icemoon:Cannot be mah .. so you mean the infantry CPL same pay as the combat engineer CPL?
the combat allowance is given to combat vocationalists. this includes combat engineers.Originally posted by Gordonator:for your info, combat enginners is not a combat unit, they are a support unit. they won't be getting combat pay like infantry.
if i'm not wrong they are getting some kind of combat support allowance...
The capbadge for the beret is issued to those under command of 7th bde, which will include hq and 3 gds and 1 guards. can someone confirm?Originally posted by sidestep1984:off topic
capbadge is onli for 3rd guards(and 6th SIB rite?).....
anywaes....infantry..guards...all the same...use infantry tactics in the end...
in a war...
Guards are used to provide first strike capabilities for the SAF..
they need infantry too to take over an objective with superior numbers...
heard from a guardsman that onli 3rd guards and 6th SIB wears the capbadge for historical recognition..Originally posted by kaysquare:The capbadge for the beret is issued to those under command of 7th bde, which will include hq and 3 gds and 1 guards. can someone confirm?
yes, u can imagine the guardsmen to be like the marines of the us army. they are used for first strike, and not primarily for occupation.
Not fair la! Cdo ROD earlier mah. You serving 13 cycles meh?Originally posted by Gedanken:The difference in combat allowance sounds about right. I don't know how the pay scales have changed since I ROD'd (not ORD'd, mind you - shows how far I go back)
