Best that you have eaten at cookhouse...

I've ORD for a long time already, waiting to back for my 1st In-camp.
Just wondering what are they serving you guys now in the cookhouse?
Any fantastic and unforgettable meals? -
Chicken rice, only the rice, not the chicken. I repeat, just the rice.

Fries, Salmon Burger, Scrambled Eggs and Corn.That was my dinner ration a few weeks back when I was doing my Guard Comd duty.

i was enlisted in the 80's...back then i had 'Fan Choy', 'Lor Mai Kai', big pau or char siew pau for breakfast in the cook house... -

I had the old style cookhouse with the SAF chefs for a while, then they got SFI to come in. Life was definitely much better with SFI, no need to wash the always oily metal trays, no need to greet the chef, no spilling of soup cos the damn tray is so shallow, etc.....
but...... sometimes, SFI's food kinda sucks.
I apologise to all the aunties who try so hard to cook for us.
But really, i don't expect the aunties to be that good every single day.
as what i have observed for SFI, i think most people prefer western diet.
I remember once, they gave one spring chicken to every soldier, the cookhouse was jammed pack cos the meal took longer than usual to finish. I guess that was the best treat for a long while.
AND one more thing, because of SFI, NDP participants do not get KFC anymore as well. Kinda sad, cos KFC definitely tastes more finger licking good.

I still class BMT's cookhouse the best.
My unit last time, I think SFI head cook an indian, so whatever came out of the cookhouse is indian style food.

If the top people don't eat in the cookhouse with people on the ground.
It shows a lot in the quality. -

SI spec mass sells very nice burger .. remember to add egg and cheese.. their chicken wings oso beri nice.. muz try.. but i left quite sometime ago .. dunnoe still the same standard anot

I think that during my days in Tekong, there is a visit by the New Zealand army RSM visits to Tekong so we gets to eat lunchs like satay, sweet n sour soup, fried chicken etc........... It is the best army food I have ever eaten.

Do they still serve Prawn Noodles/Fishball noodles on Tues/Thursday morning and the famous vegetarian bee hoon on Friday mornings??Curry Chicken Rice on thursdays and the yummy Friday Fried Chicken Fillet Rice with the authentic Chicken Rice Chilli sauce....
The burger was a new menu item as i was there...I still remember the 1st dat auntie was selling the burger...It was an experiment that was a sellout!!
The wings(juicy and oily) was a direct adversary to the Officer Mess ones(dry and salty)...Different people liked different style...
As for the cook house....Hmmm...ehz, Western (food) thursdays usually had the highest turnout... -

chicken chop noodle in outside the OCS cadet Mess..the cadet will always go "Aunty chicken egg noodle jia zi dan ( add egg), 2 plates and 2 cups of rootbear float"hahhaha

The western food at SAFTI OCT cookhouse, the pork chop and roast chicken there is quite good!
And the worst? the frigging mutton curry at BCTC, it came out PINK!!!!! and for those who have been to BCTC, you know that its ONLY muslim food there (will cater to all and so reduce the operations there). And you think to yourself, how can ANYONE mess curry up? well.... my question was answered. *hurls* -
SFI nasi lemak... I always queue for more servings on certain fridays...

Hmmz...Half a Roasted Chicken,Mixed Veg,Potato Wdeges and Irish Cream Soup.Thats the yummyiest I have tasted and its at Amoy Quee Camp 2SIR Cookhouse on Thursday. IT ROCKS!!!

sadly i didn't get to eat it. u see, at 1st, the cookhouse is serving chicken, as they are running out of chicken, i was the last fews to get chicken. after the chicken is ran out, they started bringing out the fish and chip. i was like
