I am interested in applying as a regular as a signals specialist? How abouts do i apply? What are my chances of getting in? What other careers do you suggest?
Thank You
haha..i am no regular but i'm a nsf signaller as of now. Seeing your credits, i doubt there's truely a proper vocation in the combat support side to make full use of your talents. Maybe in MINDEF where there is a more "office" type of work?
What i am doing now is combat support in outfield exercises. I am in the CCIS (Command and Control Information Systems) platoon. What we do is to deploy laptops and supercomputers for major brigade or division exercises. I do network troubleshooting or server manning.
Seriously after i've been at it for quite sometime, i think a commercial company would be able to offer you more relevant experiences and opportunities. It would be better if you can try to get some kind of IT related job in MINDEF instead. I don't really recommend signing on as a signal spec unless it is your passion to have a career in the army.
Personally, i think you might have a higher chance of getting better job prospects and job experience working in the private sector instead. Also, signing on the army means you are contracted with SAF for a long time. If you happen to find any better jobs meanwhile you will regret that you signed on earlier. Just something for you to regurgitate on and think about. ^_^
