wow it certainly is a crowded fixture for liverpool. it's like 3 games in 8 days. Hope they players don't get fatigued after last thurs highly charged game against deportivo. Wonder who will start in the centre of the park. Biscan and hamann was outstanding against Depotivo but we certainly could use a bit of long range passing from Alonso. However i feel Liverpool should win this quite comfortably. 2-0 to the home team

As long as Diao is not playing, Liverpool have a chance.
Heskey will know the weakness of Hyypia.
So, he will work extra hard to hao lian to his new boss.
Liverpool will be tired after the match from Spain.
Hope Ah Ben can depoly Biscan to toughen him out.
He is lacking in match fitness and cohesiveness.
He show his vision during the Spain game but his team mates are not sharp or fast enough.
The BLUES are tough cookie.

Have a bad feeling... Everytime we are confident, Liverpool surprises us by playing badly... for the past decade!
But I guess Liv still good enough for a victory. As long as there are no major screw ups. Our home form is nothing short of amazing... -

Milan Baros is facing a race against time to be fit for Saturday's clash with Birmingham after picking up a minor hamstring injury.
Baros, the Reds' leading scorer this season with seven goals, is given a "50-50" chance of facing Steve Bruce's men as Liverpool look to make it five wins out of five in the league at Anfield this season.
"Baros has a slight muscle problem," said manager Rafael Benitez today. "At the moment I would say he has a 50-50 chance of playing, but we will see tomorrow."
The loss of Baros would come as a huge pre-match blow for the Reds, especially given the fact that record signing Djibril Cisse is already ruled out with a broken leg.
But Benitez prefers to remain positive and insists he has enough quality in the squad to cover every eventuality.
He said: "If Baros is out then we'll have to look at other players. But we have options. If we didn't have other players for that position then I would be crying.
"We've got Kewell, Pongolle, Garcia and Mellor who can all play as a striker. It's all about the players who are available. We have good players here and if we have to use them it's not a problem."
Xabi Alonso is fit again and expected to start against Birmingham after recovering from the calf strain which relegated him to the subs bench in La Coruna in midweek.

Biscan ? This one I'm not too sure , but I'm sure Alonso will come in this time after resting him at the mid-week UCL .
I thought Benitez kept Alonso fresh for this game by not playing him against DLC ? And replace him with Biscan ?
I have a gutsy feeling Mellor will partner Baros upfront ......
Garcia on the right , Warnock on the left . Riise will be rested instead .
And maybe Finnan will replace Josemi at the back . -

Don't think Mellor will play lah... We got Garcia or Kewell who can play as second striker... provided Baros plays
And weakest link Josemi will play... 'cos he's Spainish. -
Josemi? I still think he is too slow and reckless to be a full back. Maybe can try him at center back.

Baros is struggling with a minor hamstring problem.
My speculation will be that Kewell will start the game upfront alongside either Sinama Pongolle or Neil Mellor.
Alonso will return to partner Hamann.Risse and Garcia take the flanks.
No change to the defence.
Baros will feature midway in the game should LFC struggle to score.Finnan,Biscan,Warnock and Dudek make up the rest of the bench. -

Josemi lagi cannot make it. I seriously hope he doesn't play today or Birmingham would just keep attacking down the left flank and cross balls in for heskey to head

I thought it's another pre-match gimmicks from Benitez claiming Baros is injured , Baros is indeed injured !
Pool toothless infront of goal , Garcia only chance was balooned skyward !
Birmingham defense was shakey at times , Pool never capitalised !
Looked deemed for a draw if Pool never changed Kewell out , Kewell never threaten !
Maybe there's a chance if Pool play Garcia and Sinama upfront , and Biscan in for Kewell , and Alonso playing behind the front two ?
