He won coz he played his guts out time n again during the whole course of the competition. He won coz he was part of the miraculous comeback win last May at Istanbul. Seriously, I dunno who was 2nd....but he muz be a distant away!

Deservingly so cos there hasn't been a player that is so influential and vital to the team. You may have the Rauls, Ronaldos, Ronaldinhos, Shevs and the who's who's of today but their performances wasn't as so vital for the team they played for.
I think Lampard would be a close second for his steely midfield display but remembered that he has great players around him. Whereas Gerrard has good players but not great enough to push LFC up the tempo. That's where he excels at... assist goals, scores them, lead by example and always urging that URGENCY when in defense or attack. -
And now pool fans are singing praises of their captain..I can still remember not too long ago they were wishing for the 30m to come and he to be gone..
