  Liverpool Football Club will hold their AGM for shareholders on Thursday 23rd February.
  
  The latest financial report will show that the Reds made a profit after tax of £7.53million last year compared with the previous year's loss of £18.22million.
  
  Net debt though has risen from £15.38million to £17.14million.
  
  Turnover has risen by 32% to £121.05million compared to the previous year's £91.57million with the wage bill reduced from £66million to £64million – 53% of overall turnover, compared to 72% the previous year.
  
  In the annual report, Chairman David Moores said that the 37 points difference between Liverpool and Chelsea last season "should not be acceptable" and he added that coming 5th was "sobering".
  
  Mr Moores was full of praise for manager Rafael Benitez who's success in the Champions League certainly took the pressure off the Liverpool board as a result.
  
  He said: "He has not shirked from difficult decisions - and since the change of manager, significant changes have occurred."
  
  Mr Moores believes that "real and tangible progress is under way" following Liverpool's 5th European Cup victory which he described as merely the "first chapter in the modern-day history" of the club.
  
  "This is a valuable springboard for further and sustained success," said the chairman.

  The modern football club needs to go debt free besides jus winning everything in order to survive and excel in the long run.
