Liverpool close to signing Daniel Alves

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez is close to signing Brazilian defender Daniel Alves from Sevilla.
The Reds had an £8million bid rejected during the January transfer window.
Back then Sevilla president Jose Maria Del Nido said: "We received an offer of £8 million from Liverpool for Daniel Alves but we refused it."
However Liverpool have returned and it would appear we are close to clinching a deal for the 23-year-old who is comfortable playing as a right-back or in midfield.
In August 2005 he signed a 2-year extension to his existing contract which now runs until 2011. At around the same time he was also awarded dual citizenship freeing up an additional place in the Sevilla squad for a non-European Union signing.
Barcelona have also been tracking the highly-rated player. -

Yeah ! I saw David Villa played , fast and agressive , young somemore ..... not likely Ah Ben would go for player from his ex-club .
Anyway , If Villa is for sale , he wouldn't come cheap . -
Liverpool have been told they can have Sevilla's Daniel Alves but only if they table an offer of around £7million.
The 23-year-old Brazilian - who can play as a right-back or on the right side of midfield - has been linked with the Reds for some time.
If Rafa decides to make an offer and if he is successful in recruiting him, then it's fair to say that Jan Kromkamp will be axed as recent speculation continues to suggest.

Finnan is an excellent player no way he should go.
Kromkamp is the cover for Finnan.
Both defenders and we are getting right midfielder so I dont think anyone needs to go.
Left midfield is over crowded and I believe injury man Mr Kewell is on his way out.
We have Mark Gonzalez to look forward to as well.
Liverpool is going to be exciting next season. -
Agree 100%. Finnan is one of the most consistent Reds player this season. Quiet, hardworking player who goes about doing his business with min. fuss. Rafa can see that. Finnan is one of our finest , most injury-free ( touch wood ! ) consistent player thru'out the season , so NO !

cuz i feel that finnan potential limited. kronkamp for some reason appeals whenever he's playing..and he just joined this season, if i'm not wrong finnan also didn't do very well in his first season..oh well..

finnan is one thing...consistant...
krompkam doesn't seem to be happy playing for liverpool.. -
kromkamp seems.. average to me. cant run fast, cant dribble, cant do anything great, just a capable player to have in a squad
