imo, i think momo sisoko is rafa's best signing to date.
hate to say it, but he will have viera-type presence in 2 years. now, m alredi impressed with his high work rate, some very good passing, fearless tackle and his ability to `clean up' a messy situation in midfield.
i think sisoko, gerrard and xabi will form the `golden triangle' in liverpool's midfield, hopefully for many years to come. gerrard the marauding midfielder, momo the ball-holder and mr clean up and xabi the passer. i just hope none of them do dope..... -

actually, nunez is not a bad player. too bad injury (1st training session no less) stunted his development @ anfield. i saw him play in a few reserve matches @ liverpooltvc on wmp, and he's a good attacking winger (albeit against reserve team). in a team likelfc, if u don't make an impact soon, u r behind the queue since there are many good players to fill in...
hate to say it, i think nando is rafa's worst signing to date....

All good managers made poor signings before..
but what them so good is they know how to squeee the best out of these so call lousy signings...
Look at Traore.. He was not signed by Rafa but who know how 'good' he is..
But he did improve alot under the gaffer...
Anyway I think the signing of Alonso n Garcia was top class... But the best was he managed to keep Gerrard at the last day before he signed for Chelsea.. and to be honest, he would be as good as now if he did moved to the London club... -
Any which way we look at it, LFC plays alot of ball in the middle. I'm looking forward to Gonzalez's impending arrival wif approval of passport. He'll be one to look out for on the left.

Luis Garcia is a hell of a frustrating little f***ker with all his erratic passes and his lack of vision. But of course we all love him don't we. Those absolute beauties against Juventus and Chelsea at crucial junctures of our seasons. He goes against everything Benitez stands for ; organization and attention to detail. Just throw him in and hope he gets his stroke of genius on. The rabbit out of a hat.
I agree with Sissoko being the next Viera, albeit without the nastiness of that man. He is just a monster in midfield and will play a key part of the Liverpool core. And I give another two years maximum before Xabi Alonso is truly recognized as one of the world-class greats.

Why ? The nice things is , Ah Ben see Momo as a capable man to take-over the task Hamann has been doing .

Really sad to see Dieter Hamann goes. He will still worth his salt is given another year extension to his contract.
If I'm not wrong, he's the oldest player in LFC squad but he's also one of the most hardworking player. A football professional whose loyalty and work ethics never been questioned. Lead by example when needed to with the new lads. Despite his injured toes, he still managed to play out his playing time and played manificently at last yr's CL final. -

Yeh, he still got at least a year in him at the top level. He may have slowed but never his focus and work-rate. -
THe Most Impressive player for Liverpool this season is Pepe Reina.
If Ah Ben dun buy him, Liverpool will be leaking goal at the back.
His impressive clean record for the season show every thing. -
Hamann had always been underrated. I would go as far as saying had Liverpool not brought him on for the finals at Istanbul and Cardiff, we would have kissed those trophies goodbye. He was the man who freed Gerrard up. And to me, he is a footballer's footballer. No showboating, nothing glamorous about him. But he works hard, gives his all in every game and is one the best passers of the ball. In my book, this unsung hero is one of the best holding midfielders in the world.
But Rafael Benitez knows that to give him a regular place in the first XI would mean that younger, up and coming players like Sissoko might have to be sidelined. Hamann is 33, and no doubt age has caught up with him. I am positive Benitez recognizes him as one of the best players in the squad but alas for the future of the squad, he knows he cannot rely on Hamann for even the short-term future and therefore has to shift the spotlight on fresh young talent to take over the holding roles.
Whether he stays for another year or keaves for another club during the transfer opening, I'm not too sure. He knows in his heart that he has to make way for young blood.

Hamann is a well-discipline player .
If he keep himslef fitter as ever , he can still contribute a bit in football .
Maybe he should be plying his trade back in The Bundesliga , Bundesliga's pace is slower .
Anyway , what he achieved in Liverpool , he's already a legend .

... ah ben's best signings - alonso, reina, garcia, momo ... he has also signed some very good young players it seems ... hobbs, anderson, barragan, antwi etc ... they seem to be doing well in the reserves and may be our future stars ... btw, we won the youth fa cup so we are probably doing something right in our youth system ... -

And personally, I find nothing more satisfying than growing your own talent. If another Carragher, Gerrard or Fowler comes out of the Academy, step aside Chelsea FC. -
Technically, Raffie didn't sign him but he did persuade Super G to stay and prior to that, he let his Captian know abt his future plans. That explains alot of respect and trust between himself and Super G. Besides Super G, I say Alonso is the next impressive signing. Sissoko is very very near but Alonso beats him in the consistency dept. he plays deep, passes hellava accuracy and range, allowing Super G to comes into the attacking third. -
